We are seeking an Analytics Engineer that partners with cross-functional teams within the organization to build, maintain, and optimize the data assets, BI infrastructure, and data engineering workflows critical for monitoring the health of Cox Automotive Consumer & Marketing Solutions products and businesses.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Cross-functional partnership
  • Partners with cross-functional teams within the organization to make data-driven business decisions aimed at growth and business optimization.

Develop and maintain data assets
  • Builds and maintains foundational assets (e.g., Data Dictionary, Query Repository) that provide standards and records of data critical for monitoring the health of Cox Automotive Consumer & Marketing Solutions products and businesses. Works with stakeholders to find ways to optimize these assets.
  • Collaborates with analysts to establish requirements for data assets, translating analysts' metrics and analytics use cases into data asset development based on database schema or through coordination with data scrum teams across portfolios. Identifies opportunities to optimize existing assets, with a focus on runtime performance.

Data pipeline and model management
  • Supports the development and maintenance of data models using dbt (data build tool) and SQL-based transformations deployed to Snowflake, following a structured model lifecycle from stakeholder intake through production deployment.
  • Participates in version-controlled development workflows using GitHub, including branching, pull requests, code review, and CI/CD pipeline processes to ensure reliable and repeatable data deployments.

Data lineage documentation
  • Supports the maintenance of data lineages that document metrics included in each report, along with their queries and data sources. Proactively suggests improvements to existing documentation to facilitate more efficient future updates and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Contributes to semantic layer documentation and metadata that enable AI-powered analytics tools (e.g., Snowflake Cortex Analyst) to accurately interpret and respond to natural language queries against business data.

Develop and apply anomaly detection and alerts to data assets
  • Develops and maintains anomaly detection and alerting capabilities for data assets. Continuously improves detection methods and thresholds to ensure data quality and reliability.

Anomaly diagnostics of data assets
  • Applies advanced analytics methodologies and collaborates with analysts and/or scrum teams across portfolios to identify root causes of data anomaly alerts.

BI tool strategy and analytics tool administration
  • With limited manager oversight, responsible for the administration of account access for analytics tools.
  • Working with Manager, supports various BI tool strategy projects by focusing on optimizing existing platforms to ensure proper technologies that align with analytics needs.

Enable analytics practice and team operations
  • Maintains and optimizes technologies that enable the analytics practice and team operations, including SharePoint, operational insights, and various types of automation such as insights automation, workflow automation, and similar.
  • Leverages AI/GenAI applications to augment task execution, improve workflow efficiency, and accelerate delivery of analytics operations deliverables.
  • Must be able to learn and use analytics and other relevant technologies (e.g., web analytics tools, SQL-based databases, data visualization software, AI/GenAI capabilities). Must be able to work directly with vendors to resolve issues.

Other operational responsibilities
  • Supports Analytics Leads or other leaders for company initiatives and projects; may lead project execution to meet milestones and timelines after working closely with Manager or direct line of leaders to establish an aligned project plan.
  • Guides other analysts on the proper use of advanced techniques and technologies and validates their work.
  • Works with Manager and direct line of leadership to define priorities; must be able to deliver against business goals working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to perform the duties above with limited Manager oversight, proactively looking for ways to optimize existing solutions.
  • Must be able to travel by land and/or air for same-day or overnight business trips (up to 5%).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE
Requirements
  • Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to the Atlanta office
  • Bachelors Degree and 6+ years experience or 18 years related experience
  • Technical skills required: Intermediate SQL programming skill; intermediate knowledge of SQL-based relational databases; previous experience with ETL processing of big data.
  • Required: 6+ years experience with SQL-based relational databases (e.g., Athena, Redshift, Snowflake). Snowflake preferred
  • Required: 6+ years experience with BI Tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Domo, Tableau).
  • Required: Microsoft Office Suite, specifically strong Excel proficiency.
  • Web analytics knowledge (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) highly preferred.
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt (data build tool), including model development, testing, and documentation preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD workflows for data pipeline deployment required.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Snowflake data platform capabilities, including Cortex AI features for semantic layer and natural language analytics.
  • Previous experience working with AI/GenAI applications in task augmentation or workflow improvement a plus, including AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) for accelerating data engineering and analytics work.
  • Must be able to learn and use AI/GenAI capabilities as part of the analytics operations workflow, including leveraging large language models for code generation, documentation, data quality analysis, and process automation.
  • Previous experience working with machine learning or automation, especially related to anomaly detection, setting thresholds, or natural language generation, a plus.
  • Tableau Server certification, AWS Data Analytics certification a plus.
  • Must be able to work directly with vendors to resolve issues, to drive technological advances, and on long-term projects/initiatives.
  • Must be able to learn and use analytics and other relevant technologies (e.g., web analytics tools, work management software, AI/GenAI capabilities).
  • Demonstrated effective relationship building and collaboration skills across teams, ability to consult stakeholders for the best outcomes to drive broad business successes.
  • Ability to anticipate stakeholders' needs and recognize the opportunity to provide proactive solutions that build tight thought partnership.
  • Ability to develop and improve scalable processes and standards that drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present findings to stakeholders at all levels. Must be comfortable translating pieces of findings into a cohesive story, as well as articulating analytical concepts in a concise manner.
  • Ability to solve problems with creative solutions, not afraid to challenge assumptions and intuitions; knows how to ask the right questions and prove/disprove hypotheses with data.
  • Ability to translate requests and questions into actionable tasks with clear timelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize in a deadline-driven atmosphere with evolving priorities. Flexible working style; ability to switch gears quickly and thrive in an agile environment.

USD 101,500.00 - 169,100.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $101,500.00 - $169,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
