Core Responsibilities 

  • Provide single-threaded accountability for Vanguard's enterprise AI Testing & Monitoring capability across the Responsible AI lifecycle.  

  • Lead and develop a team responsible for advancing testing, monitoring, and AI assurance capabilities.  

  • Define and execute the strategy, roadmap, operating model, and success metrics for AI testing, guardrails, and production monitoring.  

  • Partner with ES&F to operationalize Trusted AI Assessments and ensure assessment outcomes are incorporated into governance decisions, risk management processes, and deployment readiness requirements.  

  • Lead the evolution and adoption of Vanguard's AI Guardrails Program, including standards, effectiveness measurement, automation, and continuous improvement.  

  • Define and operationalize production monitoring capabilities, including risk indicators, issue escalation, remediation tracking, and governance reporting.  

  • Coordinate across business, technology, governance, privacy, compliance, legal, security, and platform teams to drive consistent implementation of Responsible AI testing and monitoring requirements.  

  • Translate regulatory, policy, and risk management expectations into scalable and sustainable operational capabilities.  

  • Provide executive reporting on program effectiveness, AI risk trends, monitoring outcomes, and capability maturity.  

  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and governance forums through clear evidence, reporting, and traceability.  

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of eight years of progressively responsible and related business experience, with at least four years of technical project management experience.  

  • Experience working across multiple functions to deliver enterprise-scale capabilities in regulated environments. 

  • Strong understanding of AI, technology risk, governance, security, privacy, or compliance practices. 

  • Previous people-leadership experience. 

  • Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required.  

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with AI governance, Responsible AI, model risk management, technology risk, or AI assurance programs.  

  • Familiarity with AI testing, guardrails, observability, monitoring, or operational controls.  

  • Knowledge of emerging AI regulatory and compliance requirements.  

  • Experience implementing enterprise governance frameworks, controls, or monitoring solutions. 

  • Graduate degree
