Job Description:

Accounting Manager

Supervise and develop an Accounting team through hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and career development to ensure efficient operations and support a growing organization while maintaining high professional standards.

  • Assign, delegate, and coordinate staff responsibilities to ensure departmental goals and deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements for one of the three company’s business segments.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and resolve cross-functional inquiries related to financial statements and general ledger activity.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and corporate partners to analyze financial performance and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts across P&L, balance sheet, capital expenditures, and cash flow; communicate key findings to management.
  • Assist with interim and annual external audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Develop and utilize financial analytics to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and document process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within accounting and reporting functions.
  • Support special projects and corporate initiatives by providing ad hoc financial analysis, including acquisition support, system implementations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or people-management role
  • Strong proficiency with financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proven analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience analyzing complex transactions and applying U.S. GAAP appropriately
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • CPA and/or MBA in Accounting preferred
  • Experience with cloud-based ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and NetSuite; BlackLine experience a plus
