At NetBox Labs, we’re building the future of network automation. Our products power the network and infrastructure management for thousands of organizations, from fast-growing startups to global Fortune 500 enterprises. As we scale through our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to focus and own our billing-to-revenue cycle, from contract setup and invoicing through revenue recognition, AR collections, and sales tax. This is a high-ownership role ideal for someone with deep SaaS experience who takes pride in getting the numbers right, building scalable processes, and partnering with across the business.

What you'll do
  • Own end-to-end billing operations: review order forms/POs, validate inputs, and issue accurate invoices

  • Monitor accounts receivable and drive collections, partnering cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and improve cash conversion

  • Manage revenue recognition (ASC 606), including maintaining schedules across subscription, cloud, on-premise, usage-based, and professional services contracts

  • Reconcile key revenue accounts: deferred revenue and unbilled AR, proactively identifying and resolving issues pre-close

  • Partner with Deal Desk, Sales, CS, and Legal to translate contract terms into accurate billing and revenue treatment

  • Maintain sales tax compliance: ensure correct invoice treatment and coordinate filings

  • Support month-end close: journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations tied to billing and revenue accounts

  • Contribute across the accounting function as needed (AP, payroll, GL, close) - we’re a startup, so we pitch in where it matters most

  • Assist with audits, reporting, and process improvements as the company scales

  • Take ownership of ad hoc projects and help build scalable, efficient accounting processes

  • Leverage AI and automation to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and modernize accounting processes

What you'll bring
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years specialization in billing, AR, revenue recognition, and month-end close in a SaaS or subscription-based environment

  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606, with the ability to independently analyze and apply guidance to complex or non-standard contracts

  • Experience with sales tax compliance (e.g., Anrok, Avalara), including multi-state nexus and exemption management - bonus points for international tax or global entity exposure

  • Proven ability to own and improve a month-end close: bank recs, balance sheet recons, accruals, and journal entries with focus on accuracy and speed

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar GL systems, including building and improving reconciliation and reporting workflows

  • Strong ownership mindset - you’re proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguity

  • Excellent communication skills and track record of effective cross-functional partnership with Sales, CS, Legal, and FP&A

  • Adaptable and willing to roll up your sleeves across accounting areas (AP, audit, close) in a startup environment

  • Experience in leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and help modernize the accounting function

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA is a plus

Our stack
  • General Ledger: QuickBooks Online

  • Billing & AR: Chargebee, Tabs

  • Sales Tax: Anrok

  • CRM: HubSpot

  • AP & Corporate Cards: Ramp

  • Payroll: Justworks, Deel

  • FP&A: Spreadsheets (for now - we’re always open to improving our stack!)

Our culture and values:
  • We own and solve problems with high attention to detail.

  • Our open source contributors, users, customers & team are all part of our community. When our community wins, we win.

  • We prioritize simplicity and think twice before adding complexity
