As an Account Manager at PAX, you will be the face of one of the most recognized brands in cannabis. This is a unique opportunity to help lead PAX’s launch into New Jersey. You will play a pivotal role in establishing our presence in this exciting new market. You will own your territory end-to-end driving revenue, build lasting customer relationships, and ensure flawless in-store execution across your assigned accounts. Working closely with our retail and distribution partners, you will help shape how the PAX brand shows up across New Jersey from day one. Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role is ideal for a driven, entrepreneurial sales professional who thrives in a fast-moving, field-based environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Ownership & Revenue Growth

  • Own assigned account relationships, commercial performance, and in-store execution
  • Drive revenue and profitability through distribution expansion, assortment optimization, pricing/promo execution, and replenishment
  • Build and deliver account plans, business reviews, and stakeholder presentations to retail partners
  • Develop and consistently achieve or exceed KPI’s and sales goals across the territory

Territory & Store Execution

  • Execute territory and store coverage standards including menu presence, merchandising, compliance, and issue resolution
  • Conduct cold outreach to retailers and dispensaries throughout your assigned territory
  • Execute vendor days and in-store activations, educating retail staff and consumers on PAX products, pricing, and brand values
  • Manage event kits, branded materials, and visual merchandising displays
  • Perform inventory counts and ensure accurate product presence at retail locations

Planning, Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM records; ensure all account activity is logged promptly
  • Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, operations, compliance) to deliver results for your accounts
  • Recommend promotional strategies to retail partners while maintaining brand integrity
  • Plan and execute regional marketing and promotional initiatives within the territory
  • Stay current on PAX product offerings, competitive landscape, and New Jersey market trends

Brand Representation

  • Serve as the face of PAX — communicating the brand's mission, values, and product story with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with retail buyers, managers, and staff
  • Lead by example with integrity, accountability, teamwork, and respect
  • Address customer needs and issues quickly and professionally
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed, with advance notice
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform manual tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • 1-3 years of cannabis industry experience in account management and/or outside sales
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage a high-volume territory
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and comfort with data-driven reporting
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, trustworthy, and results-oriented
  • Critical thinking skills with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving market
  • Ability to work independently with strong follow-through
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required; must be comfortable with extensive travel within the territory
  • Success in this role requires adaptability, urgency, and comfort operating in a rapidly evolving retail environment

COMPENSATION

This role has an OTE of $100k-120k, plus company equity and access to an accelerator program for overperformance. PAX also provides mileage reimbursement. This pay range represents what we believe, in good faith, this role will pay. Final compensation will depend on several factors, including years and depth of experience, level, and location of the employee. In addition, this role is eligible for participation in an accelerator program, which provides the opportunity to earn additional variable compensation for performance above target.
