The Regional Market Account Executive is responsible for driving profitable growth by selling and servicing group benefit solutions to small and mid-sized employers across the U.S., with a primary focus on North Carolina, including Charlotte and surrounding markets, and will work in a hybrid capacity out of MetLife's Charlotte, NC office. Guided by our purpose - always with you, building a more confident future - and MetLife's New Frontier growth strategy, this role plays a critical part in expanding MetLife's Regional Market presence.
In this role, you will partner closely with brokers and consultants to deliver comprehensive benefit solutions to employers with 2-5,000 employees. You will generate new sales, maintain and grow existing relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and distribution partners. Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales and servicing activities for assigned group customer accounts and territory
- Create and execute strategic account plans to drive new sales, renewals, and upsell opportunities
- Oversee product quote activity and manage the full sales lifecycle within assigned accounts
- Manage and grow a book of business through aggressive product sales, cross-sell, and retention strategies
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and consultants, serving as the primary benefits resource
- Coordinate cross-channel solutions by positioning MetLife's full portfolio of group benefits, including Dental, Vision, Life, STD, LTD, Voluntary Worksite Benefits, and MetLife Legal
- Deliver annual stewardship meetings and ongoing strategic discussions with key accounts
- Coordinate with internal partners to support case implementations, post-sale service, and client issue resolution
- Act as a thought leader by sharing marketplace insights, competitive intelligence, and industry trends
- Monitor, track, and report sales activity, pipeline performance, and growth strategies
- Recognize, shape, and deliver profitable opportunities while anticipating client and market developments
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Active Life & Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain within three months of hire
- 2-5 years of experience in insurance or related sales experience
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, including presentation, negotiation, and influencing abilities
- Demonstrated listening and problem-solving skills with a client-first mindset
- Strategic and creative thinking skills with strong financial acumen and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% to engage with brokers and clients in market
