$51.05 - $76.60The Abdominal Transplant Surgical APP is an integral member of the multidisciplinary transplant team, providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing abdominal organ transplantation (liver, kidney, pancreas). This role combines inpatient rounding, outpatient clinic management, and surgical support, with scheduled night call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Inpatient Care: Round daily on abdominal transplant patients, including pre- and post-operative management. Perform detailed assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with attending surgeons. Coordinate care transitions and discharge planning.
- Outpatient Clinic: Conduct transplant evaluation and follow-up visits. Manage immunosuppression protocols and monitor for complications. Provide patient education on transplant care and recovery.
- Procedural/Surgical Support: Assist in the operating room as needed for abdominal transplant surgeries. Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice.
- Night Call Coverage: Provide in-hospital coverage for transplant patients during three-six 12-hour night shifts per month. Respond to urgent consults, admissions, and post-operative issues.
- Weekend Coverage: Work one weekend per month, including inpatient rounding and urgent patient management.
- Master’s degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Current licensure and certification (PA-C or NP) in the state of practice.
- Minimum 1–2 years of surgical or transplant experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Day shifts: Inpatient rounding and clinic during weekdays.
Night shifts: Three to six 12-hour in-hospital call shifts per month.
Weekend: One weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday coverage).
