Acquire and publish primarily fiction titles, negotiate acquisition terms, edit manuscripts, develop author careers, and build a cohesive publishing list. The Senior Editor collaborates with agents, authors, and internal departments to position books, prepare launch materials, maintain schedules, mentor colleagues, and supervise one employee. The role requires strong editorial judgment, industry relationships, fiction-market expertise, contract familiarity, and at least eight years of book publishing experience.

Conduct workplace investigations, maintain multi-jurisdictional employment policies, advise on performance management, accommodations, leave, and employee relations matters, and draft employment and severance agreements. Support agency inquiries, subpoenas, litigation holds, document collection, contractor classification reviews, regulatory research, and pre-litigation risk mitigation. The role partners closely with Employment Counsel and Human Resources across a distributed workforce.

Leads a team of Royalty Managers and oversees end-to-end royalty statement preparation, analysis, review, issuance, contract processing, payment approvals, tax compliance, and issue resolution. Ensures accuracy, contractual compliance, timely payments, and effective stakeholder communication. Drives process improvements, manages escalations, supports workflow and resource planning, and collaborates with internal departments and external authors and agents.
