What It's Like to Work at eClinical Solutions

eClinical Solutions Employee Perspectives

What is your role, and what attracted you to eClinical Solutions? Describe the moment when you knew you’d found the right fit.

I’m currently doing development work for the statistical computing environment in our elluminate platform, a cloud-based application built for life sciences data integration and analytics. SCE allows programmers and statisticians to develop and maintain programs and scripts from popular programming languages, such as SAS, R and Python, and execute those programs against data within the platform.

During my job search, it was important for me to know that my work makes a difference, and eClinical Solutions certainly fits the bill. I was instantly attracted to the company’s employee-friendly atmosphere after watching a set of videos recorded for eClinical’s 10-year anniversary. While going through the interview process, everyone I spoke with was very respectful and welcoming. After a technical session with the SCE team lead, I was impressed by his technical expertise and approachability. That’s when I thought: “This is it!” I realized I can learn and grow here.

What's your favorite part about working at eClinical Solutions? The projects, the team culture, the opportunities for career advancement?

I just love that I can go and talk to anyone, including those on our leadership team who are very involved in everything happening in the company. eClinical takes really good care of its employees. If you are doing a good job, you will hear about it, and I feel valued and appreciated for the work I’m doing. We have many talented developers who take their time to explain things to you if you have any questions. The company’s focus is on solving problems, which creates a positive work environment. This approach lets developers be more creative and concentrate on the quality of the work rather than fearing to make a mistake. I think it explains why we have such a successful platform.

What advice would you give to job seekers looking to join your growing team?

We’re looking for developers who enjoy what they do. You might not have experience with all the platforms and programming languages listed on the job posting, but if you have the right approach to problem-solving and like programming, you can thrive here. Technology is a fast-changing field, so you must be willing to constantly learn and do things you have never done before. Soft skills are also important. Everyone at eClinical is very open and approachable. If you have an interesting idea, our CTO has an open door to discuss it. Team members across groups find time to help one another. We work together and everyone feels connected to the common goal, which makes the work so much more fulfilling.
