Manages the Associate Underwriting development program and leads a team of underwriting assistants. Responsibilities include staff supervision, training, workload allocation, quality management, performance measurement, cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, process improvement, and coaching. The role ensures underwriting assistant capabilities, productivity, program outcomes, and operational standards align with organizational goals.

Handles high-complexity commercial general liability and auto claims, including litigated files. Investigates losses, evaluates coverage, liability, damages, reserves, contractual indemnification, and additional insured issues. Works with agents, policyholders, attorneys, and external resources to negotiate and resolve claims while controlling costs. Reviews policies and legal pleadings, communicates coverage decisions, and contributes to cross-functional process improvements.
