Teams at Alpaca

Own client money movement across ACH, wires, RTP, checks, and journals. Review and approve transactions, process releases, reconcile cash activity, resolve exceptions, maintain operational reports and documentation, and strengthen controls. Partner with custodians, banks, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology to manage risk and improve processes. Support audits, train team members, and handle complex or high-risk transactions independently.

Build and scale global payments and treasury systems using resilient, event-driven microservices. Design client-facing APIs, distributed systems, financial ledgers, and payment integrations while ensuring scalability, reliability, and system integrity. Collaborate independently and cross-functionally to define and implement solutions, troubleshoot issues, and maintain clean, tested code. Work with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, messaging systems, relational databases, payment rails, reconciliation, and double-entry accounting.

Architect, develop, and maintain full-stack frontend applications and backend services for Alpaca’s internal trading tools. Build user-facing features, design APIs, work with financial-market infrastructure, own projects from design through deployment, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor engineers. The role requires strong systems programming, TypeScript/React, SQL, relational database, REST API, WebSocket, and cloud-platform expertise.
