Own client money movement across ACH, wires, RTP, checks, and journals. Review and approve transactions, process releases, reconcile cash activity, resolve exceptions, maintain operational reports and documentation, and strengthen controls. The role requires strong systems programming, TypeScript/React, SQL, relational database, REST API, WebSocket, and cloud-platform expertise.

Build and scale backend identity platform services for global user onboarding, identity verification, risk management, and trading accounts. Design reliable microservices and architectures, contribute to technical decisions, maintain code quality and test coverage, troubleshoot incidents, collaborate across teams, and potentially participate in on-call support.

Develop and operate authentication, authorization, and identity-provider services for APIs, customer products, and internal tools. Build Go backend services, gRPC/REST APIs, shared libraries, and React/TypeScript interfaces, with occasional Java work. Own services end to end, including data modeling, deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, integrations, testing, incident response, and on-call support.

Own Alpaca’s regulated crypto product surface, including spot trading, stablecoin funding, custody and liquidity integrations, staking, lending, crypto APIs, and perpetual futures. Partner with engineering, compliance, legal, operations, and external customers to define and execute the roadmap. Evaluate market structure, regulatory developments, partner needs, technical feasibility, and business impact while delivering developer-focused infrastructure at scale.

Build and operate backend systems for securities lending, short borrowing, clearing, settlement, and brokerage operations. Own projects from scoping through production, develop partner APIs and batch pipelines, improve system scalability and reliability, integrate with external partners, and participate in on-call support. The role requires strong distributed-systems fundamentals and interest in securities finance and market infrastructure.

Lead the architecture and technical direction of Alpaca’s Trading API customer experience. Own identity, authentication, authorization, account models, partner access, and customer-facing trading applications. Drive backend modernization, real-time trading features, security practices, safe production delivery, observability, incident prevention, design reviews, and engineering mentorship. Collaborate with Product, Design, Compliance, Security, Brokerage Operations, and platform teams while remaining a hands-on principal contributor.

Own Alpaca’s tokenization product vision, roadmap, metrics, and flagship initiatives across minting, redemption, settlement, custody, and on-chain issuance. Partner with engineering, legal, compliance, operations, partnerships, and institutional clients to deliver regulated tokenization infrastructure. Lead issuer and authorized-participant experiences, broker enablement, partner discovery, regulatory alignment, and build-versus-buy decisions for tokenized securities and real-world assets.

Owns execution of the enterprise risk management program for a regulated financial services company. Responsibilities include managing risk intake, maintaining risk registers in Vanta, validating residual scores, tracking mitigation plans, defining KRIs, coordinating cross-functional risk leads, identifying emerging risks, and preparing executive and board reporting. The role also supports ERM governance workflows, local entity risk updates, escalation processes, and risk-management playbooks.

Lead Alpaca’s global Trading API customer experience organization, including General and VIP Support. Build a follow-the-sun coverage model, establish service standards and KPIs, improve support through data, AI, automation, and self-service, and develop high-performing teams. Partner with Product, Engineering, Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Sales to resolve recurring issues, improve customer workflows, and support institutional trading customers.

Support due diligence and third-party risk reviews for fintech and financial institution partners. Responsibilities include evaluating documentation, conducting KYC, KYB, AML, and enhanced due diligence reviews, tracking onboarding requirements, communicating with partners, identifying risk indicators, maintaining records, and coordinating with Compliance, Legal, Operations, Product, and Project Management teams to ensure integrations meet regulatory and internal standards.

Build and operate Alpaca’s liquidity risk infrastructure, including daily and intraday liquidity reporting, data pipelines, monitoring, alerting, controls, and stress testing. Develop deterministic and Monte Carlo liquidity models, support SEC and FINRA reporting, assess funding and settlement risks, and provide analysis for Treasury, Risk, regulatory, and management stakeholders. Partner cross-functionally on new products, margin systems, governance, and risk controls.

Own Alpaca’s market data product strategy and revenue growth. Define sourcing, licensing, entitlements, pricing, packaging, build-versus-buy decisions, API capabilities, developer experience, and partner priorities. Lead exchange and vendor negotiations, assess competitive positioning, and deliver real-time, delayed, historical, and derived market data products across asset classes and geographies.

Support Account Executives and Sales leadership through customer research, meeting preparation, proposals, sales materials, pipeline analysis, follow-up coordination, onboarding, and enablement. Build repeatable workflows across CRM, AI tools, and internal data sources; improve data quality, automate recurring work, maintain sales resources, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to increase sales productivity and scalability.

Own Alpaca’s growth data strategy across acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and monetization. Build experimentation frameworks, causal and incrementality analyses, funnel and cohort models, LTV/CAC and churn forecasts, marketing measurement, governed growth metrics, and self-serve analytics. Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Finance to influence strategy and roadmaps, communicate insights to leadership, mentor data professionals, and establish standards for growth analytics.

Build and scale global payments and treasury systems using resilient, event-driven, microservice-based architecture. Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Alpaca’s listed futures and prediction market products. Partner with engineering, operations, risk, compliance, regulators, exchanges, clearing organizations, and institutional clients to launch and scale the firm’s regulated FCM. Define requirements, evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, improve margin, clearing, settlement, and trading-risk workflows, and ensure CFTC/NFA compliance across the derivatives platform.

Build and architect Alpaca’s high-performance algorithmic trading platform. Responsibilities include writing backend and frontend code, designing distributed and highly available systems, optimizing low-latency and high-throughput performance, and developing scalable databases, messaging systems, concurrency controls, and service-oriented architectures.
