Alpaca Benefits Overview

Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Alpaca’s listed futures and prediction market products. Partner with engineering, operations, risk, compliance, regulators, exchanges, clearing organizations, and institutional clients to launch and scale the firm’s regulated FCM. Define requirements, evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, improve margin, clearing, settlement, and trading-risk workflows, and ensure CFTC/NFA compliance across the derivatives platform.

Build and architect Alpaca’s high-performance algorithmic trading platform. Responsibilities include writing backend and frontend code, designing distributed and highly available systems, optimizing low-latency and high-throughput performance, and developing scalable databases, messaging systems, concurrency controls, and service-oriented architectures. The role also involves making critical platform decisions and potentially contributing to order and risk management, trading systems, observability, cloud infrastructure, and financial ledger capabilities.

Leads Alpaca’s global tax function, overseeing tax strategy, compliance, reporting, planning, ASC 740 tax provisions, transfer pricing, indirect taxes, and international tax matters. Partners with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Product, and business leaders on transactions, expansion, and regulated financial-services activities. Manages advisors, audits, tax authorities, controls, forecasting, M&A tax diligence, and public-company readiness while building scalable internal tax capabilities.
