Crunchyroll is looking for a reliable and service-driven Workplace Experience & Security Coordinator (Contract) to act as the on-site representative of our physical security program. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment by executing daily security procedures, supporting emergency preparedness, and partnering with both global and local teams to safeguard employees and visitors. You will bring a calm, professional presence and the ability to respond decisively in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
In addition to core safety responsibilities, this role will also support the Workplace Experience team by helping maintain the facility, assisting with local events, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations that keep the office functional, efficient, and enjoyable for employees.
In the role of Workplace Experience & Security Coordinator (Contract), you will report to the Safety and Security Manager as well as the Workplace Experience Manager.
We are considering applicants for the Des Moines, Iowa location.
Hourly rate $33.00-$40.00/hr.
Safety & Security
- Serve as the designated on-site contact for all safety and security matters, providing a visible and proactive security presence.
- Monitor office entrances and shared spaces to ensure only authorized individuals gain access; enforce badge and visitor policies.
- Oversee the issuance, collection, and replacement of employee ID badges during onboarding and offboarding.
- Escort guests, employees, or talent after hours and ensure secure lockup procedures and floor sweeps are completed.
- Respond to and document security-related incidents using company platforms, coordinating with building security and emergency responders as needed.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness planning, including preparedness documentation and planning for drills and other emergency preparedness activities.
- Act as an emergency response leader for real-world emergencies, including fire, weather, lockdown, or medical situations.
- Keep first aid stations and emergency supplies fully stocked, accessible, and compliant.
- Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or gaps in procedures; conductdaily security checks and maintain detailed activity logs.
- Support enforcement of company-wide security policies, including those related toworkplace violence prevention, visitor access, and equipment handling.
- Maintain required safety certifications (e.g., CPR/AED/First Aid, conflict resolution) and participate in regular training and check-ins with the Global Safety & Security Manager.
- Stay current with OSHA (based on select locations) safety standards and certifications relevant to workplace health and safety, ensuring compliance across daily operations.
- Actively suggest and implement improvements to enhance site safety, emergency preparedness, and policy compliance.
Workplace Experience
- Be the point of contact at the entrance, creating a welcoming and professional environment for employees, guests, and vendors.
- Manage daily office operations including receiving and distributing packages, maintaining inventory of kitchen and office supplies, and keeping supply closets organized and well-stocked.
- Collaborate with our teams such as People Experience to support local office events, seasonal programs, and space reconfigurations.
- Help rout incoming workplace, facilities, and technology-related tickets to the appropriate teams, ensuring handoff and tracking (without direct resolution responsibility).
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness of shared office areas to support a productive and safe work environment.
- Be the on-site resource for general workplace questions and assist with day-to-day employee needs as they relate to the physical office.

- 4+ years of experience in a safety, security, military, or first-responder setting, demonstrating a strong track record in incident response, risk mitigation, and maintaining a secure and compliant workplace environment.
- 4+ years of experience in hospitality, Workplace Experience, or facility management, ideally in a customer-facing or operational support role.
- Effective in de-escalation and situational awareness, with the ability to document incidents clearly and remain professional, composed, and communicative under pressure.
- Familiarity with access control systems, access logs, and visitor management platforms.
- Tech-comfortable and proficient with tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, and Jira.
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, assist with minor physical tasks, and maintain a mobile, active presence throughout the workday.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
