About WorkHero

WorkHero is building the AI-powered back office for the skilled trades.

The skilled trades, and especially the $100B+ HVAC industry, are at the heart of our economy and the climate transition. Thousands of small business owners in HVAC and the rest of the trades keep our homes comfortable and energy efficient. Yet these business owners are buried under administrative work.

WorkHero’s mission is to help the small guys compete, i.e. the independent contractors and family-owned HVAC shops. By pairing experienced office managers with AI tools, we reduce the admin burden, help owners grow thriving businesses, and expand the capacity needed to install heat pumps.

We’ve grown to $500K+ ARR in months, with backing from Workshop Ventures, top angels, and strategic advisors like Chad Laurans (Founder of SimpliSafe) and Gerald Chertavian (Founder of Year Up).

Preference for candidates based in New York or on the east coast, though we welcome exceptional applicants from anywhere.

The Role

We’re looking for a founding Growth Marketer who can build the engine that helps thousands of HVAC owners discover WorkHero and become loyal customers.

This is a huge opportunity for an entrepreneurial growth marketer ready for the next step in their career. You’ll own the growth strategy across our marketing stack, including drafting excellent content, spinning up landing pages on Webflow, managing full lifecycle marketing on Hubspot, and setting up dashboards to track the right metrics. You’ll report to our co-founder and CEO and collaborate closely with Sales, Service, and Product.

Most importantly, you thrive in a fast-paced startup environment: you learn fast, figure things out on your own, and know how to turn great content into measurable growth.

Why This Role Is Unique
  • Shape the growth strategy at a fast-growing startup using AI to transform the skilled trades

  • Work cross-functionally on a small team where your impact is immediate and measurable

  • Have the resources and mandate to use AI tools to create maximum leverage for yourself

  • Shape both tactical execution and high-level direction of our marketing strategy

What You’ll Do

GTM Strategy

  • Partner with leadership on overall positioning and go-to-market strategy

  • Design and run growth experiments, making informed bets on new channels

  • Track and report key metrics to board and CEO

Content Engine & Brand Growth

  • Build and run WorkHero’s content marketing from ideation to distribution across video, blog, newsletter, and social

  • Launch organic social campaigns and lifecycle content to generate awareness and conversion

  • Test influencer collaborations, podcasts, and newsletters to extend reach and credibility in the HVAC industry

GTM Support & Experimentation

  • Ship landing page tests, copywriting, and new channel experiments (SEO, events, conferences)

  • Create sales and marketing collateral for founder-led selling and channel partners

  • Build dashboards and report on critical funnel metrics (cost per MQL, time to opportunity, conversion rates, funnel velocity)

Funnel Growth & Performance Marketing

  • Manage paid media strategy and day-to-day execution through consultants and partners (Meta, Google Ads, etc.)

  • Monitor and optimize the funnel from Lead → Opportunity → Customer, improving lead quality and velocity

  • Refine lifecycle marketing, lead scoring, and HubSpot workflows to nurture qualified leads and accelerate revenue

What You Bring

Must Have

  • 3–7 years in growth or content-led marketing in consumer, B2B2C, or vertical SaaS

  • Proven strength in content-led growth and full-stack marketing

  • Bias toward scrappy execution and high agency; ability to work independently without heavy internal support

  • Demonstrated fluency with HubSpot and Webflow

  • Analytical mindset and data fluency with experience building dashboards and reporting on funnel performance

  • Comfort managing paid media consultants and analyzing results across channels

  • Strong writing skills and strong visual taste

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to extend daily impact

  • Curiosity about the trades and empathy for small business owners

Nice to Have

  • New York or east coast based

  • Fluency with Meta Ad Manager, Figma, and other marketing tools

  • A personal connection to HVAC or other skilled trades

  • Marketing experience in HVAC, broader skilled trades, or vertical SaaS

What Success Looks Like

  • A steady drumbeat of credible content that HVAC owners love and share

  • Measurable lift in funnel volume and lead quality

  • Lower cost per MQL and faster time to opportunity
A clear view of winning channels and messages, with a strategy to scale them

We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
