We’re a team of friends bound together by a mission to preserve our planet for future generations through innovative energy solutions and modern infrastructure. Intersect develops, constructs, and operates the most ambitious power and data center infrastructure in the country by co-locating industrial demand with dedicated gas and renewable power generation.

Intersect was acquired by Google in March 2026 and operates as an independent subsidiary. We are developing and constructing multiple gigawatts of energy and data center projects in the U.S., enabling more data center and generation capacity to come online faster. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.

Location & Team Gatherings

Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016.  We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

As part of Intersect's Central Technical Services team, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for blade integrity, reliability, and performance across the operating wind fleet. This role is accountable for blade health programs, defect assessment, repair strategies, root cause investigations, OEM engagement, and asset performance optimization to maximize turbine availability and long-term asset value.

This is an operations-focused engineering role, not a blade design position. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of composite materials, blade structures, and repair methodologies, and has primarily applied this knowledge within operating wind farms.

What You'll Do

Blade Health, Inspection & Reliability

  • Support the development and execution of site and fleet Blade Health Management Plans.

  • Assess blade defects including leading-edge erosion, lightning damage, cracking, delamination, bond line failures, adhesive defects, and structural degradation, determining appropriate repair, monitoring, mitigation, and risk-management actions.

  • Perform root cause analyses (RCA) for blade failures, recurring defects, repair quality concerns, and reliability issues.

  • Develop engineering recommendations that improve blade reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance.

Inspection Technologies & Analytics

  • Review and validate findings from UAV and drone-based blade inspections.

  • Interpret AI-generated defect classifications and determine appropriate engineering responses.

  • Support inspection planning, defect prioritization, and quality assurance activities.

  • Maintain accurate blade condition records, inspection histories, and defect databases.

Performance Monitoring & Asset Optimization

  • Analyze SCADA, condition monitoring, and operational data to identify blade-related performance issues.

  • Investigate power curve deviations, aerodynamic performance losses, and rotor imbalance indicators.

  • Quantify blade-related production losses and recommend corrective actions.

  • Monitor blade reliability trends and support predictive maintenance initiatives.

Asset Lifecycle, OEM & Warranty Support

  • Review blade design documentation, manufacturing records, FAT reports, and quality documentation to support operational decision-making.

  • Interface with OEMs and suppliers regarding warranty claims, manufacturing defects, technical issues, and corrective actions.

  • Provide technical input during project commissioning, blade acceptance activities, and transition-to-operations processes.

Repair & Asset Management

  • Provide engineering support for composite blade repairs and Leading Edge Protection (LEP) programs.

  • Review repair scopes and methodologies for compliance with OEM specifications and industry standards.

  • Support contractor oversight, repair quality verification, outage planning, and maintenance budgeting.

Documentation & Stakeholder Support

  • Maintain engineering assessments, defect records, and work order documentation within CMMS platforms.

  • Develop technical reports, inspection summaries, repair scopes, and engineering recommendations.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Asset Management, OEMs, contractors, and third-party service providers to resolve technical issues.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Composite Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 3–10 years of experience supporting operational wind assets in blade engineering, blade reliability, rotor engineering, or blade maintenance programs.

  • Strong understanding of composite materials, blade structures, manufacturing quality considerations, damage mechanisms, and repair methodologies.

  • Experience reviewing and applying OEM service bulletins, engineering specifications, repair standards, and technical documentation.

  • Experience utilizing SCADA, condition monitoring systems, and operational performance data to support engineering decisions.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise CMMS or asset management systems.

Travel-This role involves 20–30% travel, with higher frequency expected during site commissioning, major inspection campaigns, blade failure investigations, or repair oversight activities.
