To support client’s website refresh and migration by updating and elevating site copy to align with new brand messaging, improve clarity and conversion, and create a cohesive user experience across the platform. This writer will work closely with the web developer and internal stakeholders to efficiently implement content updates while maintaining consistency in voice, tone, and positioning.

Profile overview

We’re seeking a thoughtful, strategic website copywriter who can quickly absorb brand guidelines and messaging updates, then translate them into polished, user-centered web copy. The ideal writer understands how to balance empathy, clarity, and conversion in digital experiences—particularly within healthcare, mental health, or service-based industries.

This role requires someone who is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working alongside a web developer to execute updates efficiently. The writer should be able to improve existing content, strengthen messaging hierarchy, and ensure the website reflects a modern, trustworthy, and approachable brand experience.

Scope

Duration: Website update project, with opportunity for ongoing retainer following
Commitment: 100-150 hours (to be scoped with the writer)
Location Preference: Remote, US-Based Timezone

Key Responsibilities
  • Update and refine existing website copy to align with refreshed brand messaging and positioning
  • Collaborate closely with the web developer to implement content updates efficiently and accurately
  • Strengthen website messaging to improve user engagement, clarity, and conversion across key pages
  • Maintain a consistent voice and tone throughout the website experience
  • Uplevel existing content by improving structure, readability, and flow while preserving brand authenticity
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business goals, audience needs, and messaging priorities
  • Support ongoing website content needs, including landing pages, UX copy, and promotional messaging as needed
  • Ensure copy supports SEO best practices without sacrificing readability or user experience
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in website copywriting, content strategy, or conversion-focused digital writing
  • Strong understanding of brand voice, messaging frameworks, and user-centered web copy
  • Experience collaborating with designers, developers, or cross-functional digital teams
  • Ability to efficiently revise and optimize existing content while maintaining consistency across pages
  • Excellent editorial judgment, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • SEO knowledge and experience optimizing website copy for search visibility
  • Comfortable working independently and incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and ability to quickly understand nuanced brand positioning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience writing for healthcare, wellness, mental health, or service-oriented brands
  • Familiarity with UX writing and website content best practices
  • Experience working within CMS platforms like Wordpress and Squarespace
  • Ability to balance empathetic, approachable messaging with conversion goals
