You’ll manage a small team of Web UX Designers and spearhead collaborative workflows with art directors, copywriters, animators, and engineers to get web projects fully across the finish line. You’ll also work closely with website business managers, product marketing managers, SEO, and CRO experts to drive business results on our highly trafficked websites.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team of Web UX Designers with ongoing 1:1s, coaching, and feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative, cross-functional work environment that effectively leverages the expertise of art directors, copywriters, and engineers outside your direct line of management.
  • Partner with website stakeholders to understand business goals and desired results for various projects.
  • Guide team members to find the intersection between business goals and user-friendly website experiences.
  • Prioritize user research and usability efforts throughout project workflows.
  • Guide design decisions based on a solid understanding of the strategy, values, audience, and functionality of our various website properties.
  • Help team members achieve the highest standards of quality and execution with their website design work.
  • Ensure that team members’ solutions leverage the design system and established patterns on marketing websites.
  • Evaluate and improve UX team initiatives, such as the design system, guiding principles, research practices, shared processes, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, web design, human computer interaction, multidisciplinary design, user experience, or a related field.
  • 5+ years professional design experience.
  • 1+ years people management experience.
  • A portfolio of web design projects that showcase a strong knowledge of UX, UI, and visual design.
  • Experience with responsive design in Figma (preferred), Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Experience with design systems and style guides.
  • Experience turning quantitative and qualitative research into design recommendations.
  • Basic familiarity with front-end development and accessibility best practices to ensure proposed design solutions are achievable.
  • Excellent communication skills — the ability to effectively talk through project requests with stakeholders, ask relevant questions, communicate plans to team members, and voice sound design rationale.
  • Excellent collaboration and coordination skills — the ability to effectively plan and organize complex projects that involve a variety of cross-functional contributors and stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills — the ability to rally a team to achieve great results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years specifically designing websites, software products, or other interactive experiences in a professional environment.
  • Proven experience transforming websites with modern, best-in-class designs.
  • Extensive experience working with a variety of different roles (copywriters, art directors, animators, engineers, etc.) to collaborate on web designs.
  • Expert knowledge of user testing and research platforms.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy and brand standards into user-friendly web experiences.
