Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

In Growth Product Experiences, we create amazing user experiences, blending our role as a top streaming service with exciting engineering challenges. We develop A/B tests and features for web, TV, and mobile platforms to introduce Netflix to more people, encourage sign-ups, and keep members engaged for the long haul.

Our team thrives on growth, proactivity, curiosity, and selflessness, embracing diversity, inclusion, and equity. If you're passionate about quality code and captivating UI that reaches global audiences, we'd love for you to apply.

This role is open for remote or hybrid engineers. Hybrid team members are based in Los Gatos, California, spending three days a week on average at Netflix’s HQ.

What will you do in this role?

As a member of the Account Lifecycle & Privacy team, you'll directly influence how millions interact with Netflix daily. Our focus is on building stable, reusable capabilities, enhancing Netflix operations, including streaming apps, Games, Ads, Live, Support, and Netflix House.

You'll play a pivotal role in enabling smooth account management, privacy consent collection, customer onboarding, and customer support experiences across Netflix products. Using Server-driven Web UI technologies, you'll create modular experiences that minimize client-side logic. Your work will enhance flexibility, increase experimentation speed, improve user experience, and directly contribute to our bottom line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions.

  • Focus on product, business, and partner needs for high-quality experiences.

  • Lead technical direction for Server Driven UI components.

  • Ensure systems are scalable, performant, and reliable.

What Sets You Apart?
  • Exceptional proficiency in the fundamentals of any programming language, with a focus on TypeScript, JavaScript, and React for web development.

  • Endlessly curious with a proactive approach to technology, learning, and innovation, and a keen interest in identity and security solutions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality products.

  • Always seeking different perspectives, feedback, and relevant information to consider tradeoffs and avoids over-engineering

  • Endeavors to elevate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of yourself and others, fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment aiming to continuously grow and improve.

  • Strong knowledge of GraphQL, server-driven UI techniques, and RESTful APIs for backend connectivity.

  • Skilled in creating scalable and reusable server-side components, with an understanding of security best practices in web and server-side development.

  • 5+ years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping software complete with unit tests and other automation to validate quality.

  • Bonus if you have experience in mobile development, with knowledge in Swift on iOS or Kotlin on Android.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in software development with a focus on web/server-side technologies.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

What’s different about us?
  • Growth Product Experiences is a team that celebrates and values the business impact we have on Netflix, and not just the engineering contributions we make.  If you have a strong product mindset that loves knowing how your work directly impacts our customer growth and revenue, this is the team for you.

  • We move fast and iterate quickly - we take ideas from concept to reality in a matter of weeks, not quarters.  Expect a broader range of projects compared to other teams.

  • Inclusivity is something we embrace - diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and styles are something we’re proud of.  We value thoughtful engineers who lead with passion, resilience, a positive attitude, and a high degree of empathy. You can be your authentic self on this team, as we look for culture adds, not culture fits.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, location, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.

Our culture is unique, and we live by our values, so it’s worth learning more about Netflix culture

Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.

We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service.

Job is open for no less than 7 days and will be removed when the position is filled.
