Yottaa is seeking expert Web Performance Optimization Consultants to lead its SpeedSense Performance Consulting offering – an expert-led service that helps eCommerce brands excel online by enhancing website performance and user experiences. Our web performance consultants work with our clients’ internal teams to help them hit performance benchmarks, improve website speed, and learn to recognize performance regressions.
You will benefit from exposure to world-class performance experts, working together to raise the bar on performance consulting as a practice. Typical projects range from single audits, to ongoing advisory support for our clients.
Your Role
- Conduct detailed audits of client websites to identify performance problems.
- Ruthlessly flush out the root cause of site speed problems to make defensible recommendations for remediation.
- Collaborate internally with Project Managers, other Web Performance Consultants, Yottaa's CDN configuration experts.
- Estimate, rank and prioritize client performance opportunities by expected impact and feasibility.
- Communicate performance findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Interface directly with product managers, developers, and QA staff at client companies to help them prioritize, implement, and validate our performance recommendations.
Your Experience
- 5+ years of experience in web development
- A passion for web performance and site speed optimization
- Deep understanding the various metrics used to measure the speed of a website
- Expert working knowledge of Core Web Vitals
- Knowledge of when to use synthetic vs real world performance data and insights.
- Deep understanding of network fundamentals, CDNs, caches, single-page vs multi-page application architectures, client-side vs server-side rendering.
- Working familiarity with performance debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, WebPageTest, etc. for debugging page load bottlenecks.
- Strong attention to detail and an obsession with quality.
- Clear communication skills in conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- Deep familiarity with one or more web frameworks. Please include your tech stack expertise in your application.
- Experience working with Ecommerce websites, and the specific performance challenges that arise in this industry.
