About the role:

As the VP of Technology & Innovation at IntelliShift, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s technology vision and strategy. You will collaborate closely with product leadership to ensure that technology and architecture decisions align with both immediate and long-term business objectives, delivering high-quality customer experiences while balancing technical initiatives and new feature development. This role involves building and scaling high-performing software engineering and QA teams, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving the adoption of AI tools across the organization. You will oversee enterprise software architecture, IT infrastructure, and critical business systems, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability. Additionally, you will evaluate emerging technologies, manage budgets, and guide the organization through best practices in cybersecurity, compliance, and disaster recovery. Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing IntelliShift’s mission to empower fleet and operations teams with transformative insights and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with the Product Leader to assess optimal technology and architecture decisions to meet the product and GTM requirements of the product organization focusing on the short term and long-term vision of the product, delivering high quality customer experiences, while balancing technical initiatives and new feature builds
  • Develop and implement comprehensive IT strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure technology investments drive competitive advantage and long-term value.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to determine their potential impact on the organization

Innovation & Engineering Management

  • Help build and scale multiple software engineering teams and QA teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop team members, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Manage the software engineering department's budget, resource allocation, and project prioritization aligned with the Product roadmap and strategy
  • Provide technical guidance and direction for the engineering teams
  • Promote healthy design patterns and architectural philosophy across IntelliShift development teams
  • Guide the architecture and engineering teams in the continual evolution of architecture principles and best practices
  • Drive the use of AI tools across the Engineering & QA teams

Architecture Design and Management

  • Facilitate technical debates around design options and helping steer the team to the best near term and long-term solutions
  • Help architects clearly articulate and document design patterns to clarify the work for the engineering team
  • Develop and manage enterprise software application architecture and infrastructure
  • Develop and manage the technological infrastructure, including organizational information systems, IT support, software applications, etc.
  • Ongoing assessment of technology and architecture – reviewing technical debt to ensure the application hosting environment
  • Identify new technologies and opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and cost of the application hosting environment

IT and Business Systems

  • Implement and maintain critical IT systems, including ensuring application system security, disaster recovery systems and cybersecurity processes and procedures
  • Build vendor relationships, purchase new technology, software, an equipment as needed, and manage budgets
  • Identify new technologies and opportunities to improve systems and processes

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Extensive Experience with leveraging Microsoft Azure and AWS for enterprise SaaS application hosting
  • Extensive Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration and Security Best Practices
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Database management preferred
  • Experience with building enterprise grade stream-processing platforms leveraging modern technologies like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon Kinesis, or Azure Eventhubs
  • Experience managing Software Engineering organizations that include web application and mobile application engineering and quality assurance engineering
  • Have been responsible for the cyber security of a software company with a cloud-hosted solution helping organization navigate SOC 2 compliance
  • Experience managing the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans of an IoT platform

·       Knowledge of best practices and experience with building B2B Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products. (Hardware product experience is a plus)

  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience with enterprise software architecture design
  • 8+ years of IT leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Telematics, Video Telematics and/or fleet technology experience preferred.

Location: Remote — The ideal candidate will reside within the Eastern & Central Time Zones.




Benefits

We offer competitive compensation, commensurate with experience; $260,000-$280,000 base salary plus bonus. We also offer outstanding benefits to simplify the lives of our employees and show them how much we appreciate their contributions. IntelliShift provides company-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance for all FT employees, 401K with a 4% company contribution, and Flexible PTO
