LPL Financials’ Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team seeks an experienced Strategic Vendor Relationship Manager to optimize and manage relationships with LPL’s most complex vendors.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Sourcing organization as a Vice President, Strategic Vendor Relationship Manager where you’ll be responsible for spearheading partnerships with an assigned group of LPL’s most complex strategic vendors. In addition, you will be an SME who provides guidance to internal/external stakeholders regarding vendor compliance, risk management/mitigation, cost optimization, and financial insights.  Lastly, the Strategic Vendor Relationship Manager will continuously cultivate and deepen Vendor partnerships while maximizing value. A fundamental component of the role is change management and the ability to lead the transformation of LPL’s partnership with its strategic Vendors. You will also be a key contributor regarding the ongoing evolution of the SVRM Program by developing and maintaining effective processes and supporting the creation and management of strategic vendor roadmaps

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Influence and maintain strong internal relationships with executive Strategic Relationship Owners through ongoing engagement, consultation and participation in day-to-day operational functions.
  • Manage holistic relationships with strategic Vendors, understand the impact of Vendors who provide multiple products / services across multiple business units and demonstrate the ability to cohesively drive LPL’s priorities and mitigate risk with the Vendor’s roadmap and strategic future partnerships.
  • Partner with the Strategic Sourcing leadership to evolve the vision and execution roadmap for the Strategic Relationship Management function maximizing the value of LPL’s Vendors by creating a centralized LPL message.
  • Collaborate and drive partnership with various Business stakeholders, Sourcing, Technology, Operations, Product Management, Third Party Risk, and Legal to conduct contract analysis, establish clear metrics of success, drive roadmap innovation and maintain executable escalation paths.
  • Ensure Business Owners, internal stakeholders and vendor partners establish and evolve deeper partnerships with strategic Vendors, developing executive level relationships, reviewing performance to identify potentially problematic trends and aligning Vendors to LPL’s strategic vision.
  • Negotiate high dollar & high-risk contracts with key Vendors in such a way to drive value across Business, Product and Technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure appropriate processes/controls to maintain and ensure compliance with the contract in support of the Strategic Relationship Owner
  • Manage the completion and oversight of SVRM reports, fact sheets, and tracking matrices.
  • Lead all efforts and logistics pertaining to onsite Quarterly Business Review meetings for assigned vendors focusing on service performance, incident metrics, firm updates, strategic planning, and review of new vendor services.
  • Understand and represent the different types of risk associated with each strategic Vendor (operational, revenue impact, reputational, security, coexistence with systems, etc).

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

Learn the LPL Strategic Vendor landscape, meet with key executives across various Operational, Product and Technology units in conjunction with assigned key vendor stakeholders to understand impact, importance and dependencies for LPL. Partner with the Business, Sourcing and Third Party Risk to gain an understanding of ongoing operational dependencies. Gain an understanding of the company’s goals and establish the draft strategy aligning LPL’s most strategic Vendors.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Vendor Management supporting Third-Party Risk, Vendor Relationship Management, Outsourcing, Software and Hardware functions within large institutions.
  • Experience developing and cultivating relationships with Senior Executives
  • Experience as a process leader who is detail oriented with demonstrated expertise on contract agreements and risk management.
  • Organizational change management experience.

  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects, with an ability to prioritize individual and team
  • workload based on business needs and deadlines
  • Negotiation skills with demonstrable experience in negotiating win-win outcomes that meet the interests of all parties
  • Ability, with proven experience, to work in a dynamic fast paced organization, with a focus on continuous improvement, customer service and teamwork
  • Creative problem solving skills and experience in facilitation of effective discussions around change management and varied ideas, opinions, insights and expertise
  • Unimpeachable ethical standards and a strong work ethic
  • Grace under pressure and a sense of humor!

 

Pay Range:

$133,088-$221,813/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
