Summary:In this role, you will serve as the senior executive leader for one of Vizient’s aggregation group partnerships, the Pediatric Alliance, which represents approximately 20–30% of the overall role. The Vice President is accountable for setting the strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and driving the overall performance of the program to deliver a best-in-class offering that generates measurable and sustained value for participating members.Beyond the Pediatric Alliance, this role holds broader responsibilities, including executive oversight of the shared services that support Vizient’s aggregation groups. These areas include commercialization and business development, centralized contracting, data and operations, and financial services. The Vice President partners closely with their leadership team, peers, and key Vizient stakeholders to drive alignment, execution, and growth across the portfolio. The role reports to the Senior Vice President, Strategic Sourcing Partnerships & Programs.Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Pediatric Alliance, including the development and execution of program objectives, priorities, and long-term strategy.
  • Establish and maintain strong trust-based relationships with the Pediatric Alliance executive leadership team, serving as an executive point of engagement.
  • Develop and execute an integrated operating strategy that aligns goals, capabilities, and interdependencies across all supporting workstreams.
  • Deliver against defined savings targets, value objectives, and performance commitments.
  • Lead and continuously enhance the performance of shared services functions supporting all aggregation groups, including commercialization and business development, centralized contracting, data and operations, and financial services.
  • Communicate effectively and persuasively with senior executive audiences, both internal and external, conveying complex concepts with clarity, confidence, and influence.
  • Define, track, and report on performance using quantitative and qualitative measures of value, outcomes, efficiency, engagement, and satisfaction; proactively identify and escalate risks or issues.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations and deliverables outlined in Statements of Work with service providers are met or exceeded.
  • Partner closely with Spend Management leadership to ensure strategic alignment and coordinated execution of key initiatives.
  • Collaborate across Vizient functions-including legal, finance, marketing, sales, information and data services, and operations-to develop solutions that drive utilization, savings, and program growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, professional development, and ethical leadership through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Drive program growth and strategic alignment with broader Vizient offerings in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage program financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and P&L accountability, ensuring results align with established forecasts and financial objectives.
  • Monitor market and technology trends and apply deep healthcare industry knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a best-in-class program.

  
Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree preferred. Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a closely related field desired.
  • 10 or more years of relevant healthcare experience including at least 5 years at the leadership level required.
  • Significant strategic experience within a supplier organization, hospital or health system, healthcare association, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic planning, business planning, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen, including proven success managing P&L responsibility and achieving financial targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound, timely decisions using prudent judgment to achieve both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Proven executive leadership style that is visionary, proactive, collaborative, and politically astute.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, consensus-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead through influence, inspire teams, and motivate others to achieve results and professional growth.
  • Commitment to promoting and modeling Vizient’s culture and values, including integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership.
  • Willingness to travel. 

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $348,300.00.
