Job Overview

We are seeking a VP, Software Development Manager to join the Investor Experience Technology organization, responsible for delivering solutions for advisors and institutions. This critical leadership role combines strong technical expertise, project management skills, and stakeholder engagement to drive innovation and growth. The VP will recruit and coach engineering teams, ensure delivery of high-quality technology solutions, and partner with agile leaders to align practices, mitigate dependencies, and plan capacity needs. Daily responsibilities include oversight of development quality and collaboration with solution architecture to establish scalable patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Recruit, manage, and motivate software development teams to achieve organizational goals.

  • Project Management: Oversee software project delivery, managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance, maintain deep knowledge of LPL’s technology stack, and stay current with emerging technologies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment and successful delivery.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to organizational strategy by identifying technology opportunities and risks.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality across development teams.

What Are We Looking For?

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years in a Manager/Tech Lead capacity guiding teams toward successful project delivery.

  • 5+ years in a Solution Architect role designing and implementing complex systems.

  • 10+ years of full-stack development experience, including interactive web applications, microservices, public cloud solutions, REST APIs, Kafka messaging, and vendor API integrations.

  • Expertise in .NET, Angular, JavaScript, C#, SQL Server, AWS (container and serverless), Git, Visual Studio, and front-end technologies.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (technical and non-technical).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to interface with customers to gather business needs and present solutions.

  • Effective planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

  • Experience managing remote teams and contingent workers/SOW.

  • Champion Agile principles and practices within the team.


 

Pay Range:

$155,288-$258,813/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
