We are seeking highly-experienced and results-driven VP, National Geographic Learning, Cengage School Sales to manage a team of dedicated Regional Managers and Sales Consultants. As the VP, you will be responsible for leading and motivating the team to ensure they can achieve sales goals, accurately forecast, and track new and close existing opportunities. An ideal candidate would have significant experience leading a sales team and a strong background in the K-12 market.

What you'll do here:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed sales goals accounting for market dynamics and complexities
  • Facilitate the adoption of high-quality instructional materials and educational technology in school districts. Support teachers in effectively implementing these materials and technology in their classrooms. Ensure that learners receive the maximum benefits from these resources.
  • Implement effective sales performance metrics and ensure adherence to processes for tracking individual and team performance, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the state adoption process in the K-12 market and leverage your expertise to lead the team through large scale state adoptions from end-to-end, ensuring a successful adoption
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners in the K-12 school market, including state and district level administrators and officials
  • Collaborate with peers and internals teams, including Revenue Operations. Marketing, Content/Portfolio and Customer Success, to align sales efforts with support tactics
  • Create a high performing sales team by holding regular 1:1s, providing ongoing feedback and coaching and mentoring to help team overcome obstacles to success

Skills you will need here:

  • Proven track record of success with 10+ years in a sales leadership role. K-12 market experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing sales team, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and driving results.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to develop and implement sales strategies aligned with business goals
  • Strong state adoption experience and a deep understanding of the state-level decision-making and RFP processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, or a related field
  • Remote with the ability to travel on a regular basis

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$163,100.00 - $215,000.00 USD
