Vice President, Enterprise Technology & Agentic Experience (Business Applications)

About SailPoint

SailPoint is defining the next era of identity security. Our unified, AI-powered platform seamlessly secures both the Human Fabric of your workforce and the Agentic Fabric of AI and non-human identities, completely eliminating organizational blind spots.

Built on core principles like zero-standing privilege and contextualized risk, our platform transforms identity from a vulnerability into a strategic business advantage. Today, we are trusted by some of the largest, most complex organizations in the world to deliver intelligent, autonomous identity security at scale.

About the Role

Most enterprises sit on dozens of SaaS platforms across HR, Finance, and Customer Operations, yet their teams spend thousands of hours navigating manual workflows, chasing approvals, and reconciling fragmented records. Generative and agentic AI represent a fundamentally new operating paradigm—moving beyond static dashboards to intelligent, autonomous digital coworkers that execute complex cross-system actions.

As the Vice President of Enterprise Technology & Agentic Experience, you will serve as a transformational executive leader, enterprise architect, and player-coach championing a federated ("co-build") IT operating model. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will lead our Financial Systems, People Technology, and Enterprise AI Lab teams. You will embed directly with functional leaders across Finance, People (HR), and Customer Success / Post-Sales to co-design autonomous workflows while architecting the underlying enterprise AI platform infrastructure that powers them safely at scale.

About the Team

You will lead the Enterprise Technology & Business Transformation organization, encompassing Financial Systems, People & Productivity Systems, and the Enterprise AI Lab. This team is at the forefront of modernizing internal business operations by bridging enterprise software architecture with cutting-edge agentic workflows and AI engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Executive Leadership & Federated Operating Model: Champion and operationalize a federated ("co-build") IT operating model, bridging enterprise software architecture with agile business domain teams across Finance, People (HR), and Customer Success / Post-Sales.
  • Lead Enterprise Systems & the AI Lab: Direct and mentor high-performing teams across Financial Systems (ERP/NetSuite), People Technology (Workday), and the Enterprise AI Lab, fostering a product-minded engineering culture.
  • Architect Enterprise Agentic Infrastructure: Design and govern the enterprise AI platform infrastructure—including LLM gateways, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, tool-calling frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines—ensuring enterprise-grade security, RBAC, and data privacy.
  • Co-Design Autonomous Workflows: Partner closely with functional executive leaders to identify operational friction, automate cross-system processes, and deploy intelligent digital coworkers that execute complex enterprise tasks safely.
  • Drive AI-Assisted Engineering Velocity: Champion modern AI engineering practices (utilizing tools such as Cursor and Claude Code) across development workflows, raising code quality and accelerating delivery while maintaining rigorous human-in-the-loop review standards.
  • Strategic Roadmap & Governance: Prioritize technology investments, maintain the cross-system enterprise roadmap, and establish clear operational metrics and ROI benchmarks for all enterprise automation and agentic solutions.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise technology, business applications, IT transformation, and software engineering.
  • Enterprise Application Portfolio Leadership: Proven track record leading enterprise application suites across core operational domains, including HR (Workday), Finance (ERP/NetSuite), CRM/Post-Sales (Salesforce), and modern cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • AI Architecture & Agentic Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on expertise in enterprise AI architecture, including LLM orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP), RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks.
  • AI-Assisted Engineering & Tooling: Baseline fluency in modern AI development tooling (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code), Python-based AI/ML libraries (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy), deep learning frameworks (PyTorch), and foundational model hubs (AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI).
  • Operating Model Transformation: Demonstrated success implementing federated IT operating models, platform engineering, or cross-functional fusion teams with robust governance, security, and access controls.
  • Executive Influence & Communication: Strong executive presence with a demonstrated ability to build trusted advisory relationships with C-suite stakeholders and non-technical business partners.

Roadmap to Success:

1-Month Outcomes: Discovery & Baseline Assessment (30 Days)

  • Complete executive onboarding and establish strategic alignment with the CIO, executive peers, and functional leadership across Finance, People (HR), and Customer Success.
  • Conduct a comprehensive baseline assessment of SailPoint's enterprise applications architecture (Workday, Salesforce, NetSuite, modern data platforms), current IT operating models, and ongoing transformation initiatives.
  • Engage directly with team members across Financial Systems, People Technology, and the AI Lab to evaluate talent, current workloads, tooling, and team culture.

2-Month Outcomes: Strategy & Architectural Blueprint (60 Days)

  • Finalize the operational charter and governance framework for the Enterprise AI Lab.
  • Identify and prioritize the top 2–3 high-impact pilot candidate workflows across Finance and People operations for agentic automation.
  • Define the architectural blueprint for enterprise agentic platform infrastructure, including LLM gateways, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, tool-calling frameworks, and RAG pipelines.
  • Develop an AI-first upskilling and enablement curriculum for existing Business Systems Analysts, Architects, and Engineers.

3-Month Outcomes: Fusion Pods & Sandbox Delivery (90 Days)

  • Establish formalized business co-build fusion pods with Finance, HR, and Customer Success stakeholders.
  • Launch the initial prototypes and sandboxes for selected pilot workflows within the Enterprise AI Lab.
  • Complete team alignment and rollout of the AI-first engineering upskilling roadmap.
  • Establish clear metrics and KPIs for tracking operational velocity, friction reduction, and ROI across agentic initiatives.

6-Month Outcomes: Production Deployment & Standardization

  • Deliver the first wave of production agentic solutions across Finance and HR, demonstrating measurable reductions in manual effort and cycle times.
  • Standardize core enterprise agentic architecture, data integrations, and security/RBAC guardrails across all business systems.
  • Operationalize the federated co-build model, enabling business domain teams to actively co-develop workflows alongside IT.

12-Month Outcomes: Enterprise Scale & Industry Benchmark (1 Year)

  • Scale resilient, autonomous workflows across key cross-functional business processes enterprise-wide.
  • Fully transition the Enterprise Technology organization into a modern, product-minded, AI-first engineering team.
  • Establish SailPoint’s enterprise technology and agentic operations as an industry benchmark for intelligent, autonomous business execution.

Education & Travel:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or business field required, or equivalent professional experience; advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) preferred.
  • Travel: Periodic domestic travel as required for executive offsites, team strategy summits, vendor meetings, and key corporate events (typically 10–20%). In-person interview attendance is required during the selection process.

Location: US-Based Remote (Note: In-person interview required)
