About Gravitate:

Gravitate is an AI-driven software company that serves the refined fuels industry. We provide software solutions to refiners, wholesalers, fuel retailers and transportation companies. The market demand for our solutions has been significant and we are growing rapidly.  We are looking for a driven, hungry and talented professional to join our team.

In just five years, Gravitate has become the trusted platform for many of the sector’s largest players. Today, 7 of the top 15 fuel retailers and 50% of the largest refiners use Gravitate to power sourcing, pricing, and logistics. The company’s technology already touches 70% of U.S. refining volume, and its products capture value on every gallon moved. With over 250 billion gallons traded annually, the growth opportunity is virtually unlimited. Gravitate was founded in 2020 and raised a significant growth investment from Falfurrias Management Partners in 2024, positioning the company to displace entrenched incumbents and become the category-defining platform for refined fuel logistics.

The Vice President of Engineering will be central to this next phase, scaling the organization from $20M ARR to $50M+ ARR and building the foundation for global market leadership. Reporting to the CEO, this leader will grow and mature the engineering function, architect systems for scale, drive AI- and analytics-driven innovation, and foster a cohesive, high-performance culture.

You’re an Ideal Candidate if:

  • Scaled a high-performing engineering organization with strong processes and a collaborative culture that attracts and inspires top talent
  • Architect flexible, enterprise-grade systems that support large customers while maintaining a reliable core platform
  • Lead AI- and analytics-driven solutions in autonomous supply, dispatch, and logistics
  • Partner with the CEO and product leadership to align engineering with business priorities

The Non-Negotiables

  • Proven success scaling engineering teams in high-growth B2B SaaS environments
  • Experience growing organizations from $20M to $50M+ ARR
  • Proven depth in AI and analytics, with background in simulation models or supply chain/logistics preferred
  • Strength in architecting enterprise-grade systems balancing flexibility and reliability
  • Demonstrated track record of driving innovation in products, processes, or technology adoption
  • Recognized leader in recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent
  • Deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, able to balance strategy with execution
  • Growth-minded with grit, ownership, and resilience
  • Clear, direct communicator who builds trust with executives and teams
  • Credible and inspiring technology leader, internally and externally
  • Energized by disrupting a traditional industry and scaling a category-defining platform

About the Gravitate team:

To understand who our people are, you should first understand what they’re not: replaceable. Each member of the team is chosen carefully and with intention. We believe that finding the right fit is more important than a laundry list of credentials – and that we are people first, and titles second.

Because we hire the Gravitate way, our team is certainly one of a kind. We’ve brought together incredible talent that regularly collaborates to create clean, fresh solutions. That effort has led to remarkable opportunities, including work with many Fortune 100 clients. We’ve found that the winning combination of exciting achievements, trust in one another and open communication lays the groundwork for long-lasting, successful careers. That, and the fact that we clap for each other at every opportunity.

Problem solvers, go-getters and charge-takers -  we (really) want to hear from you.
