ABOUT THIS ROLE
As the VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology and engineering at LVT. You will lead our AI, software, hardware, and platform engineering teams to innovate and deliver world-class IoT solutions with integrated AI/ML security features. This role requires a strategic thinker with technical hands-on experience, capable of driving technological advancements and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technology Leadership:
- Assist in developing, and own the execution of the company's technology vision and strategy
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the engineering team, cultivating a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Drive the adoption and implementation of best practices in engineering, ensuring that the team maintains a high level of technical excellence
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the company remains competitive
- Identify and recommend opportunity within the platform and the technology to innovate and build new products that align with company objectives to drive growth
- Product Development:
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle execution from concept to launch, ensuring rapid and high-quality delivery
- Ensure that engineering efforts align with the overall product and business strategy.
- Partner closely with the product management leadership team to ensure alignment on product vision, roadmap, and delivery.
- Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define product roadmaps and priorities
- Ensure robust integration of AI/ML security features into IoT products
- Engineering Management:
- Model and promote a culture of cross-functional teamwork, where departments work together to achieve common objectives and deliver exceptional value to customers
- Recruit and manage a high-performing engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Implement best practices for software development, hardware design, and platform engineering
- Ensure efficient and scalable development processes, including agile methodologies.
- Security and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce security protocols to protect data and privacy within IoT solutions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the executive team to align technology initiatives with business goals
- Communicate technology strategies and roadmaps to internal and external stakeholders
- Operational Ownership
- Collaborate with business leaders on financial planning and major financial decisions that support the company’s overall health, while overseeing the engineering budget to ensure cost-effective use of resources without compromising quality or performance
- Ensure that the engineering team has the necessary skills, experience, and resources to meet product development goals
- Implement scalable solutions to proactively address talent management needs, such as succession planning and effective business continuity planning
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced degrees and relevant certifications are a plus
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, including experience as a CTO or VP of Engineering
- Proven track record of leading software, hardware, and platform engineering teams
- Extensive experience in IoT systems and AI/ML applications, particularly in security solutions
- Experience in productizing Computer Vision solutions within edge devices
- Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities
- Deep understanding of IoT architectures, AI/ML technologies, modern architectures (event-driven/microservices), cloud development, and cybersecurity
