This is a unique opportunity to lead a large, high-caliber engineering organization, scaling both core revenue-generating products and new 0-to-1 initiatives. You’ll be the strategic and operational leader of our Engineering org, responsible for driving excellence across product engineering, platform, and infrastructure. You will be instrumental in shaping technical strategy, team structure, product initiatives, and culture. You will report to the CTO and will be looked to for technical decision making, as we expect each leader in our engineering org to be technical. You will also shape our product development lifecycle, ensure technical excellence best practices, and that we effectively leverage AI to help scale the highest performing team possible.

Technical Strategy & Execution:

  • Drive quarterly technical strategy and OKRs across products and infrastructure. Partner with the CTO to set the annual technical vision, aligning with company strategy. Collaborate with the Super.com leadership team and cross-functional peers to craft quarterly team OKRs to drive business value
  • Ensure high-velocity project delivery across teams and products, proactively identifying and resolving technical and collaboration blockers, and providing direction to navigate ambiguity
  • Optimize product development lifecycle and engineering processes from a data-driven lensGuide key architectural and build-vs-buy decisions
  • Champion technical excellence, system reliability, quality targets, and RCA culture
  • Ambitiously improve our developer experience and ensure state of the art deployment and production infrastructure
  • Promote engineering best practices and ensure teams are leveraging modern technologies where impactful, including AI
  • If you’re up for it, get your hands dirty in the codebase every once in a while

Organizational Leadership:

  • Scale and evolve the Eng org structure and ways of working to support our growth and delivery goals
  • Foster a high-performance and empowered engineering culture, with autonomy and accountability
  • Lead and shape discussions around how we balance innovation, tech debt, and quality focusHire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent. Manage, coach, and develop engineering directors and senior ICs
  • Drive career growth paths and performance management processes characteristic of a high-performance culture
  • Embrace servant leadership

Our Technology:

  • We use a state of the art architecture powered by Python microservices, React frontend, Postgres for storage, Kubernetes on AWS, Snowflake for our data warehouse, and Gitlab for CI/CD
  • We invest heavily in monitoring and automated alerting using Datadog, and use Amplitude for client-side metrics and experimentation
  • We use Material-UI and maintain our own component library, using Figma for mock-ups

Who we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Has been an engineering department head at 2+ companies, at orgs with 75+ engineers
  • Proven experience working with high-growth startup or scaleup environments
  • Strong technical acumen — you stay close to architecture and can meaningfully contribute to technical discussions and resolve technical blockers
  • Experience managing both product and infrastructure engineering teams
  • Expertise in modern web stacks; familiarity with our stack (Python, React, AWS, Kubernetes, Gitlab) is a plus.
  • A data-informed, outcome-oriented mindset — you measure impact, not just output
  • Experience building high-performing, mission-driven engineering cultures and embrace servant leadership
  • Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and cross-functional
