Job Summary

The VP Data Solutions is responsible for transforming Surescripts' enterprise data assets into scalable, secure data solutions and revenue-generating data and analytics products. This leader owns the enterprise vision, multi-year strategy, and full lifecycle of the Data Solutions portfolio — from ideation and market validation through pricing, go-to-market execution, and ongoing performance measurement — and is accountable for portfolio growth, margin, and customer outcomes.

The VP Data Solutions drives cross-functional alignment and ensures the portfolio delivers differentiated, high-value offerings that are scalable, compliant, and aligned to customer needs. This role provides executive-level representation of Data Solutions strategy and performance, including to Board-level audiences as needed.

Responsibilities

Data Solutions Strategy and Leadership

  • Establish portfolio governance, decision rights, and prioritization mechanisms to balance innovation, regulatory requirements, platform scalability, and commercial outcomes across the Data Solutions portfolio.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability across Product, Data Platform, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and Client Success; resolve tradeoffs and remove barriers to execution.
  • Represent Data Solutions strategy and performance to executive leadership and, as needed, the Board, translating complex data and technology topics into clear business implications and decisions.
  • Build a durable leadership bench and talent strategy for the Data Solutions organization, including org design, succession planning, coaching, and culture development.

Data Solutions & Data Product Commercialization

  • Define and execute the data solutions and data product strategy, translating Surescripts' data assets and analytics capabilities into market-ready product offerings that generate measurable revenue.
  • Own the full lifecycle of data and analytics products — including ideation and market validation, product definition and roadmap, pricing and packaging, go-to-market enablement, and ongoing performance and ROI measurement.
  • Own the financial operations of the Data Solutions portfolio, including budget ownership, forecasting, pricing inputs, and profitability management in partnership with Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Develop business cases, new innovations, and value propositions for data and analytics solutions that extend the portfolio and create sustainable competitive differentiation.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, and Client Success teams to ensure analytics products are differentiated, scalable, and aligned to customer needs and buying motions.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to support customer and partner relationships, representing the Data Solutions portfolio in the market and in industry forums.
  • Work collaboratively with Surescripts Data Platform, Analytics, and Network Technology & Operations teams to design, build, and operate commercial data solutions.
  • Stay informed on and influence regulatory and compliance matters that affect the Data Solutions portfolio, in partnership with Legal and Compliance.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in related, progressive roles
  • 8+ years of people management experience or experience in roles showing progressive leadership

  • 5+ years of experience in health IT, PBM, pharmacy, payer, or healthcare-related field
  • Demonstrated success commercializing data or analytics products that generate measurable revenue
  • Strong understanding of data product management, pricing models, and go-to-market strategy
  • Experience working cross-functionally with executive leadership, product, finance, and sales
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at the executive team level and communicate to senior stakeholders — including Board-level audiences — with clear, decision-oriented narratives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Private Equity backed or high-growth organizations
  • Background in healthcare data — claims, pharmacy, clinical, or interoperability data
  • Experience with Life Sciences customers, including commercialization of data products in that segment
