Job Overview:
We are currently looking for a VP, Data Analytics who has the thought leadership to identify and manage a robust set of analytic and reporting solutions. This person should have leadership skills and technical understanding to manage multiple projects and ability to contribute to the development effort as needed. Additionally, this individual should have prior experience collaborating and consulting to build relationships with stakeholders, peers in technology/analytics, and senior leadership. The individual should have technical and business subject matter expertise needed to create business requirements that meet customer demand. This individual should also have experience working with a data warehouse to curate data to facilitate reporting and analysis. Last, this individual will manage a team of analytics developers and support their training and development while delivering insights to senior management.
Responsibilities:
Own Business Requests and Projects – Owns the Vision, Roadmap, and ROI for the Service Data Analytics & Reporting Program. Includes defining Features, PIs and Releases by maintaining the enhancement backlog and prioritizing tasks for maximum effectiveness. Unite business objectives, product strategies, and stakeholder needs into specific actionable strategies (technical and non-technical) that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Service Division.
Business Understanding – Develop positive relationships with business partners to understand their changing needs, manage expectations, deliver value-added solutions and support translation of problem statements into system requirements. Use customer and business feedback to inform roadmaps and non-functional goals. Act as a subject matter expert to credibly challenge the User Stories and Technical Acceptance Criteria.
Support Development of complex and continuous solutions by leading developers to accurately and efficiently create analytic solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to verify both user story and acceptance criteria for solutions, platforms, reporting and analytics are both functional and sustainable.
Data Understanding – Collaborate with stakeholders to identify appropriate data sources, communicate data quality validations and highlight known limitations and assumptions. Partner with Infrastructure and Technology partners to ensure timely and accurate development of data sets.
Data Preparation – Collaborate with developers to establish accurate and efficient ETL. Work with stakeholders to identify and communicate known limitations and assumptions.
Deploy – Mentor developers on quality data sourcing, data models, documentation and Test Case Scenarios, perform Quality Assurance, and obtain Business Unit approval. Assess opportunities for improvements by identifying future enhancements. Partner with Infrastructure and Technology teams to define data requirements, design data governance and testing processes, and develop curated data sets that facilitate reporting.
Continuous Improvement – Lead the process for identifying, evaluating, and implementing new technology tools. Develop product roadmaps, strategic recommendations, project plans, and governance models that drive a best-in-class user experience. Maintain a high level of familiarity with other system capabilities to make informed recommendations about potential upstream / downstream impacts.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Actuarial Sciences, or other highly quantitative discipline, plus 10+ years of experience or Master’s Degree, plus 9+ years of experience
10+ years of experience developing analytic solutions, including 2+ years leadership role
3+ years leveraging Tableau to deliver automated reporting
1+ years of experience developing reporting solutions that leverage a data warehouse
Technical Proficiency – Proficient in at least 1 data analytic language (SQL, SAS, etc.), and;
Core Competencies:
Operational Excellence – Experience following and leading others in Agile “sprints” project management methodology
Leadership & Mentoring – Experience leading, mentoring and building relationships with less experienced developers. This includes daily coaching and mentorship of direct reports regarding career development and engagement. Positive attitude with an appetite for learning, tenacious in overcoming obstacles as well as for seeking, embracing, and applying feedback.
Strategic Agility – Demonstrated ability to identify problems, locate root cause, escalating with solutions in hand.
Stakeholder Relationship Management – Experience collaborating, consulting and building relationships with solution requestors (Business Units) and ultimately creating results for our advisors and their clients.
Problem Solving / Decision Making – Demonstrated ability to identify tactical and strategic solutions evidencing the ability to value progress over perfection and considering the big picture.
Pay Range:
$132,300-$220,500/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
