Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking an experienced VP, Continuous Improvement to join our Risk, Operations, Compliance and Transformation (ROCiT) team. This role will lead business process improvement efforts across ROCiT initiatives to reengineer, optimize and automate cross-functional workflows while improving the overall effectiveness of our processes. The ideal candidate will lead teams and apply re-engineering, data analysis, and automation principles to design optimized business processes and improve overall performance. The VP will evaluate and assess gaps and opportunities in current processes, apply best practices for process design and business performance improvement and develop scalable outcomes.

The VP, Continuous Improvement will work with both senior management and frontline personnel alike to understand and document current state and identify and implement improvements to workflows from a people, process and technological perspective. They will be critical to the success of performance improvement within functions as teams adopt Lean Management System practices. The VP, Continuous Improvement, will be seen as a thought leader and a hands-on coach for the business as they adopt Lean Tools in the daily management of their business.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Identifies data source, gathers and analyzes data relevant to processes identified for process improvement initiatives. May recommend data requirements. Develop and evaluate metrics to measure process improvement outcomes and their alignment with strategic program objective.

  • Research: May research and summarize best practice standards relevant to process management. Make recommendations on appropriate solutions based on research and adherence to standard work.

  • Process Architecture: Interviews stakeholders and process owners to define processes. Ensures process mapping is complete. Designs processes using defined methods. Provides feedback and guidance to less senior analysts/consultants.

  • Process Recommendations: Prepares process recommendation documents, including presentations to senior management, process maps, supporting metrics, business requirements and related impact analyses for less complex processes or for portions of larger or inter-related processes. Lead and facilitate business process improvement sessions and collaborate on process assessment, optimization, and automation opportunities. Responsible for leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies, AI and Machine Learning principles, knowledge of Agentic AI, Autonomous Systems, and Orchestration Tools to drive process improvement initiatives.

  • Performance Management & Control: Develops performance metrics to ensure process success. Reviews data post- implementation to measure outcomes and impacts. May develop recommendations to minimize impacts.

  • Change Management: Participate in Change Management activities associated with process improvement. Engages leadership and stakeholders to obtain support and buy in for changes. Partners with management, project champions, and process owners to align process improvement initiatives with business objectives. Engage with business stakeholders to identify challenges and objectives. In partnership with business stakeholders, build, analyze and transform operating processes across Risk, Operations, Compliance and Transformation. Drive growth mindset and continuous improvement through coaching/training of the business process managers/analysts within the ROCiT organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in process improvement and process re-engineering domains in wealth management or related industry

  • Experience working within and deploying continuous improvement management system e.g., Danaher Business Systems, McKinsey-style Lean Management System, etc.

  • Direct experience leading and transforming end-to-end process improvement; designing processes and defining metrics within the financial services industry

  • Experience in Lean Tools like Huddle-boards, Standard Work, Kaizen, Root-Cause problem solving, WILO/DILO, etc.

  • Extensive experience coaching all levels of management in performance/process improvement

  • Demonstrated expertise in defining and analyzing performance metrics leveraging process design best practices

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment that focuses on customer data/needs and adapting to new methods/processes to continuously improve

  • Actively identifying and solving issues while clearly communicating goals/objectives to drive positive results through demonstrated lean principles

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate process improvement opportunities using automation technologies (RPA, low-code platforms, workflow tools), AI/ML solutions, and emerging Agentic AI frameworks

  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as Tableau, Medallia, and similar platforms to derive actionable insights and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferences:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred.

  • Extensive experience facilitating Kaizen and implementing/supporting a Lean Management System

  • Creative, adaptive and an experienced practitioner; with a growth mindset and superior collaboration skills

  • Experience in training employees on business process standardization practices

  • Ability to create and stop and see the big picture while also rolling up the sleeves to "get into the details" as needed

  • Superior communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; inclusive of written and verbal communications Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment

Pay Range:

$119,775-$199,625/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
