Job Description:

Dentsu Sports International, Inc. (DSI) is a global sports network comprised of MKTG Sports + Entertainment, a global integrated sports and entertainment agency and Dentsu Sports, a leading sports sales agency that connects brands to the world's top federations, leagues, events, teams, and venues. Born out of Dentsu Group, one of the world's largest and highly regarded marketing communications companies, DSI leverages deep insights and its networks of seasoned, highly experienced team members to establish powerful connections between sports properties and brands to deliver end-to-end solutions for its clients.

Dentsu Sports International (DSI) is looking for an experienced Vice President, Commercial Sales to help increase commercial growth in the Formula 1 space through partnerships on either the brand or rightsholder side.

You will report to the SVP, Commercial Sales for North America. You will help develop and implement a F1 sales strategy in North America. Additionally, you will bolster commercial opportunities across the full spectrum of DSI's integrated service lines. These include the Global Commercial Team (sponsorship sales and brokerage), MKTG (brand and sponsorship strategy, execution and management), and Dentsu Sports Analytics (sponsorship research, insights and measurement).

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a full-service Formula 1 commercial offering that uses the end-to-end capabilities of DSI to secure net new business opportunities, generating revenue from sales, consulting and management.

  • Develop and implement an outbound sales strategy to produce new external brand leads.

  • Operate globally, working collaboratively with the DSI network around the world to source new opportunities from international markets and the US.

  • Collaborate across the dentsu network of companies to identify commercial opportunities from in-house account teams.

  • Cultivate relationships with important Formula 1 rights holders.

  • Internally, lead major new pitches, bringing together different parts of the businesses into a cohesive and collaborative group.

  • Travel required to select Formula 1 races and other industry events in North America and internationally.

  • Manage customer relationships, engaging them in value-added activities.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 years directly related experience

  • 8+ years' experience commercializing sports and entertainment properties, including recent and direct experience in Formula 1 on brand, agency, or property sales with strong knowledge of the ecosystem and established relationships.

  • 8+ years' experience implementing sales strategies by prospecting and engaging with potential clients, delivering presentations and negotiating contracts.

  • Experience closing global and regional sponsorship deals, with contract values exceeding seven figures in USD, for Formula 1 properties.

  • Proficient using a CRM to manage the sales pipeline and record information on prospects.

  • BA/BS in Marketing related field

Additional Information

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $113,000-$182,850. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for commission following the terms of the company's plan in effect at the time the commission is earned. The company's commission plans are subject to change.
