SUMMARY:

As the Vice President of Business Systems, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, implementation, and continuous optimization of all business systems within the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, evaluate technological solutions, and streamline processes to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth. With a focus on leveraging systems like Salesforce and other enterprise tools. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of both business operations and information technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy & strategic vision for the organization's business systems, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and long-term goals.
  • System Implementation and Integration: Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of business systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and applications.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and workflows through the effective use of technology, automation, and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across departments, including Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering and IT, to understand their needs and priorities and ensure that business systems effectively support their requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and adherence to service level agreements.
  • Change Management: Drive organizational change by promoting the adoption of new technologies and processes, providing training and support to users, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish KPI’s and other relevant metrics to measure the effectiveness of business systems and track progress towards strategic goals, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities related to business systems, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team of business systems professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Act as the organizational expert on Salesforce, overseeing its configuration, customization, and adoption to maximize ROI and user satisfaction.  

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, computer science, or a related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred
  • 15+ years of proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing business systems, enterprise applications, or IT operations
  • Strong understanding of business processes, operations management, and project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive change, and deliver measurable result
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Solid understanding of enterprise software systems, including CRM (Salesforce), and other business applications such as Gong, Planhat, Ramp, Outreach, and ZoomInfo
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in business systems, such as cloud computing, data analytics, AI, and automation
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and complex technology projects
  • Proven expertise in Salesforce administration, configuration, and optimization (Salesforce certification(s) highly desirable).  
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment—startup or tech industry experience is a plus.  
  • Hands-on experience with additional platforms such as Google Workspace, Atlassian Jira & Confluence, HubSpot, NetSuite, Databricks or Tableau.  
  • Knowledge of AI-driven tools and their integration into business systems.  
  • Familiarity with Agile or Lean methodologies for process and system optimization.  
  • Strong understanding of business operations, process optimization, and enterprise technology ecosystems (e.g., CRM, ERP, BI tools).

The U.S. annualized pay range for this position is $240,000-$290,000 USD. In addition, certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales-based commissions. Base pay offered within the stated range may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related skills, professional experience, education and licenses (if applicable), work location and compensation market data.

Base pay is just a part of our total rewards program. Placer provides medical, dental and vision coverage as well as flexible time off, 401K and equity awards for certain roles.
