Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia with a growing presence in Irvine, California, USA we continue to expand to meet strong demand across our global client base. Due to this ongoing growth, we're looking for a bold, commercially driven individual to shape our next chapter of growth. 

As Vice President of Business Development, you'll help drive the growth engine of PI's services business. You'll identify new high impact opportunities, build lasting client partnerships, and lead a pipeline that translates your clients’ visions into real-world outcomes. 

 
What You'll Do 

  • Develop and execute growth strategies aligned to PI's services vision, identifying new clients across health, tech, humanoid robotics, government and beyond.
  • Build and champion PI's value proposition across global markets, presenting compelling, insight-led solutions to senior client stakeholders.
  • Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, close and ongoing account involvement.
  • Secure strategic partnerships that unlock ongoing opportunities across PI’s Innovation Services and Manufacturing divisions.
  • Serve as a trusted client advocate post-sale, participating in project and business reviews to ensure PI teams consistently exceed expectations.
  • Coach and elevate sales capability across the broader PI team, role-modelling world-class commercial behaviours.
  • Own pipeline accuracy and CRM discipline via Salesforce, providing reliable forecasts to leadership.
  • Actively contribute to PI's leadership team, shaping market strategy, brand positioning, and client awareness.

 
What We're Looking For 

  • 10+ years in general management, a business development or senior sales leadership role, ideally spanning clinical diagnostic, life science tools, cell and gene therapy, or medical device sectors.
  • 10+ years of executive relationship and network development preferred. 
  • Proven experience with product development and product manufacturing services which may include demonstrated practical experience in the design and/or manufacturing of instruments, devices, assays and/or consumables.
  • Comfortable discussing key considerations across business and technical domains which are likely to drive commercial success for your clients.
  • A proven track record of closing complex, high-value services engagements from pipeline to signed contract.
  • Experience managing and developing sales teams, preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality frameworks: ISO 9001, ISO13485and/or FDA QSR regulations.
  • Comfortable working across time zones with frequent domestic and international travel (USA, Asia Pacific and Europe).
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a related technical discipline.
  • A post graduate degree in engineering, science or business preferred.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and a disciplined approach to pipeline management.
  • Proficiency with pricing modelling and financial statements preferred.
