About Stepful: Stepful partners with healthcare institutions to build talent pipelines and career pathways. We are reimagining allied healthcare training with a digital-first environment for student cohorts that prepare job-ready graduates five times faster, at a fraction of the cost. Stepful graduates, primarily from underrepresented communities, go on to work at leading healthcare institutions. Stepful is backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital and AlleyCorp and recently closed a round led by Oak HC/FT.

Live learning is an integral part of students’ learning experience at Stepful. Our synchronous modality is what differentiates us from other self-paced online programs. We believe in active learning, whereby our students interact with their instructors in live classes.

About Our Instructors

A Stepful instructor inspires and engages students from day 1 to graduation. They are motivating, high-energy, and supportive. They break down difficult concepts, bring real-life examples from their experience, and share compelling stories with students. Unlike traditional teaching roles, a Stepful instructor is only responsible for the delivery of the content. The Learning Team develops curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments.

The Role

Our goal is for every student to receive a consistently high-quality, positive learning experience, regardless of their instructor. We are looking for an Instructional Coach with demonstrated success in teacher and student growth to support our new instructors.

As a Stepful Instructional Coach, you will deliver virtual coaching cycles to drive growth in instructor success metrics, including a live instruction rating. You will communicate with both Learning Program Managers and Instructor Managers to inform metrics analysis and curriculum updates. This is a remote, contract position.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead instructor onboarding and monitor engagement with the Instructor Academy

  • Conduct 1:1 and group onboarding sessions with new instructors

  • Conduct bi-weekly coaching cycles with new instructors

  • Report to a member of the Learning Team to share the impact of your coaching and any other findings

  • Monitor changes to instructor metrics in response to coaching, such as live instruction rating (from student survey), live class attendance, and weekly pass rate

  • Support implementation of live learning initiatives, such as updates to lesson flows

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of classroom or online teaching experience

  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a teacher, instructional coach, and/or academic leader in improving student outcomes

  • Ability to determine and carry out specific coaching strategies to help online instructors grow and see improvement in their student outcomes

  • Experience teaching and leading diverse student populations

  • Ability to quickly build relationships and rapport with diverse adult learners

  • Ability to commit 20 hours per week

  • Stellar writing and communication skills

  • Familiarity with Google Drive and Google Documents

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Receptiveness to constructive feedback on style and substance

Preferred Qualifications

  • An education-related Master’s degree or higher

  • Previous teaching experience in an online environment

  • Previous coaching or professional development experience for online instructors

  • Professional development, certification, or coursework in inclusive education, universal design for learning (UDL), or exceptional education

  • Experience teaching students with disabilities or supporting instructors who work with diverse learners

  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices in online learning environments

  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and accommodations in virtual classrooms

Bonus Points if you have:

  • Experience teaching adult learners

  • Experience in an allied health care role or health care education

Job Types: Contract, Part-time, Remote

Salary: $35-$45 per hour

Commitment: 20 hours per week

Schedule: Flexible hours for asynchronous work, plus some availability for weekly meetings during EST business hours
