Supabase is hiring a Video Producer to take our video content to the next level. This is a new role with high visibility and creative ownership, focused on building and scaling our video output across formats, from product launches and tutorials to documentaries and developer shorts.

You’ll be responsible for shaping how Supabase shows up on screen. That means managing production end to end, collaborating with internal teams, working with external editors or agencies, and helping us set up and run shoots in San Francisco. If we build a studio, you’ll be part of it from day one.

This is a great fit for someone who’s equal parts creative and operational, someone who can pitch great ideas and also make them happen. If you want to build a lean, high-impact video function inside a fast-moving startup, we’d love to talk.

Responsibilities
  • Own Supabase’s video pipeline from idea to final cut

  • Plan, produce, and publish content across formats such as tutorials, product launches, shorts, documentaries, and behind-the-scenes features

  • Collaborate with internal teams (growth, product, DevRel) to turn ideas into visual content

  • Manage editors, agencies, and other production partners

  • Coordinate shoots in SF and potentially help design an onsite studio setup

  • Develop a system for promoting and repurposing video content across platforms

  • Contribute ideas to help Supabase stand out in how we communicate with developers

You might be a fit if you:
  • Have shipped high-quality videos for product-driven or technical companies

  • Can plan, storyboard, and manage timelines across multiple projects

  • Know how to get great work out of editors or agencies

  • Are excited to roll up your sleeves and help shoot, coordinate, or even edit when needed

  • Thrive in a fast-moving startup environment with little hand-holding

  • Love turning complex ideas into engaging visual content

  • Have strong creative opinions but don’t take yourself too seriously

Bonus experience
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere or other editing software

  • Familiarity with cinematography or managing video shoots

  • Worked with DevTools, PLG products, or technical brands

  • Built or contributed to a YouTube presence from scratch

  • Shot content in a studio environment or helped build one

What makes someone great in this role?

The best people here are builders first. They take ownership, think in systems, and know how to turn creative ideas into consistent output. They understand what makes content resonate with developers and care about getting the details right without overcomplicating the process. They're self-directed, collaborative, and not afraid to experiment.

Must-Haves
  • Project management skills across video formats and timelines

  • Strong communication and collaboration instincts

  • A portfolio or reel of past video work that shows both polish and playfulness

  • Ability to operate independently and with creative ownership

Nice-to-Haves
  • Adobe Premiere or similar tools

  • Experience filming or overseeing studio shoots

  • Content creation for technical audiences

  • Background in dev-first or product-driven companies

About the team
  • We're a startup. It's unstructured.

  • Collectively founded more than 30 startups.

  • Globally distributed team with more than 30 different nationalities.

  • We deeply believe in the efficacy of collaborative open source. We support existing communities and tools, rather than building "yet another xx".

  • We "dogfood" everything. If you use it in your project, we use it in Supabase.

Process
  • The entire process is fully remote and all communication will happen over email or via video chat.

  • Once you've submitted your application, the team will review your submission and may reach out for a short screening interview over a video call.

  • If you pass the screen you will be invited to up to four follow-up interviews.

  • The calls:

    • usually take between 20-45 minutes each depending on the interviewer.

    • most of the time, are all 1:1.

    • will be with the founders, a member of either the growth or engineering team (depending on the role) and usually one other person from your immediate team or function.

  • Once the interviews are over, the team will meet to discuss several roles and candidates and may:

    • ask one or two follow-up questions over email or a quick call.

    • go directly to making an offer.
