About Uproot Clean
Uproot Clean is a fast-growing, eco-friendly pet care brand expanding across major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Chewy. Our marketing team is scaling rapidly, and we're looking for a video editor who wants to grow their skills in performance marketing while building a long-term role with a mission-driven company.
The Role
You’ll take scripts and creator footage and transform them into compelling visual narratives that keep people watching and drive purchases. You'll work with a steady flow of creator and product footage, turning it into thumb-stopping content that performs. You’ll have direct visibility into creative performance, allowing you to iterate quickly and continuously improve your work based on real business results.
What You'll Do
Video Editing & Production
Create high-performing Facebook/Instagram ad creatives and social media clips
Edit short-form content optimized for platform-specific formats
Source and organize B-roll and stock footage using the provided subscriptions
Manage creator content in Frame.io and maintain organized asset libraries
Translate scripts into compelling visual stories using strong hooks, pacing, re-hooks, and performance editing techniques.
Graphic Design & Assets
Design marketing images, thumbnails, and social graphics
Create on-brand visual assets using Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva
Project Management
Track assignments and status updates in ClickUp
Follow naming conventions and file organization protocols
Communicate proactively about timelines, blockers, and questions
Proactively suggest improvements to editing workflows, creative processes, and team collaboration.
Requirements
3-5+ years of video editing experience, specializing in short-form content
Expert-level Adobe Premiere Pro skills (required)
Proven experience editing direct-response ads for Meta, Instagram, and/or TikTok for ecommerce or DTC brands.
Mid-level proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva
Strong fundamentals in typography, color theory, composition, and motion graphics
Fluent English — excellent written and verbal communication
Self-managed — strong time management and ability to meet daily/weekly deadlines
Proactive communicator — asks questions early, flags issues before they become problems
Portfolio required — Qualified candidates who move forward will complete a practical editing assessment. While portfolios help us understand your work, the assessment is our primary evaluation of editing quality, performance instincts, and technical ability.
Proven experience editing performance creative for ecommerce or DTC brands. Candidates from unrelated industries (corporate, finance, traditional media, etc.) are unlikely to be successful in this role.
Comfortable giving and receiving feedback while proactively identifying opportunities to improve creative workflows and team processes.
Nice to Have
Background in DTC or e-commerce brands
Experience with remote collaboration tools (Slack, ClickUp, Frame.io, Notion)
Familiarity with performance marketing metrics and what makes ads convert
Tech Requirements
💻 Computer: i7 processor (or equivalent) with 16GB RAM minimum
🌐 Internet: 100 Mbps download speed minimum
Schedule
🕐 Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST (1-hour break)
📅 Required: Weekly team meeting on Thursdays at 10:00 AM EST
