The Vice President, Ports & Terminal Operations - Americas will Lead regional operations across Americas, ensuring world‑class standards in safety, service reliability, productivity and cost‑to‑serve performance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Be an ambassador for safety, always prioritize safety and help enhancing the safety culture across the company

  • Lead all strategic decisions for Americas Ports and Terminals in close collaboration with all AMR leadership and GOE

  • Define new strategic opportunities that enables growth and operating model that ties in with Regional and Global strategy

  • Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the CFO, CEO and other key executive team members

  • Set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance and profitability

  • Drive and develop standardization of the P&T business across the region

  • Ensure LEAN practices are applied in the regional and BU teams

  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership mentality for the engineering functions across the region

  • Drive terminal handling equipment standardization for the Americas Region in close collaboration with the business, regional procurement and GOE

  • Work with Regional teams to ensure good practice and governance is integrated into the business

  • Support growth and integration, leading operational due diligence and post‑deal integration for acquisitions, expansions, greenfield and start‑up terminals to ensure rapid stabilization and adoption of DP World operating standards

  • “Portfolio manage” the current portfolio including dealing with unperforming sites and assessing opportunities to monetize minority stakes or non-core assets in line with DP World strategy

  • Set and govern the regional operations strategy, providing strong direction, oversight and accountability to terminal leadership teams

  • Own the regional operations transformation agenda, driving automation, digitization and standardization in line with the Global Operations & Engineering (GOE) management system

  • Establish and enforce operating standards, ensuring high levels of data integrity, performance transparency and disciplined operational routines

  • Partner across the business with Commercial, Finance, HSSE, HR and Digital/IT to deliver customer commitments, optimize asset and capital strategies, and enable continuous improvement

  • Support growth and integration, leading operational due diligence and post‑deal integration for acquisitions, expansions, greenfield and start‑up terminals to ensure rapid stabilization and adoption of DP World operating standards


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

 

  • A strong track record of leading complex, multi‑site port or terminal operations at regional or enterprise level
  • Proven experience driving operational transformation, performance improvement and standardization across diverse geographies
  • Experience with leading using LEAN methodologies
  • Proven experience with implementation of automation tools in Port operations
  • Deep operational, commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance performance, safety and customer outcomes
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and build high‑performing leadership teams
  • A passion for safety, excellence and continuous improvement
