Job overview:

The Vice President, Finance will play a key leadership role on the FP&A team supporting the Technology division by managing a financial operations function within the larger team. As a trusted business partner, you will be responsible for driving and creating analyses, management reporting, robust forecasts, and ultimately making recommendations that help business and finance executives make informed decisions. Manage the economic business case process within the initiative budget and control processes. The team is integrally involved in strategic capacity management, including supporting growth initiatives and technology resource management. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a combination of strong business acumen, technology finance knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across software, cloud, infrastructure, and vendor spend through enhanced financial visibility, utilization insights, and improved contract economics.
  • Lead the technology business management / IT finance management dialogue across infrastructure towers, ensuring business leaders understand cost drivers and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Implement scalable cost governance mechanisms that empower Technology leaders while maintaining firm-wide financial controls.
  • Act as the primary liaison for FP&A to the Technology divisions; develop strong relationships with senior business leaders
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to guide resource planning, vendor decisions, and investment tradeoffs.
  • Lead monthly business reviews with Technology leadership to communicate financial performance, variance drivers, and operational risks/opportunities in the project space.
  • In partnership with business areas, review operating expense results, identify key variance explanations, and drive associated action items to maintain financial discipline
  • Drive the enhancement of financial related models to ensure they are both accurate and periodically updated to reflect changing business dynamics
  • Effectively interact and communicate with all levels of business leadership, including the EVPs, VPs, and other leaders within Technology
  • Build a high performing team; coach and develop team members on finance, technical, and general business skills
  • Oversee the delivery of accurate and effective executive-level financial presentations

Requirements:

  • BA / BS in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience working in progressively dynamic roles within Finance, FP&A, or Strategy
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Financial Services industry experience
  • Technology Finance Partner experience
  • Total Cost of Ownership or Technology Business Management experience

  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with insight to determine applicability of big picture analysis
  • Reliable self-starter, with a collaborative mindset and ability to build strong relationships across the organization
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to take complex factors and create relevant, concise summaries to support finance and business unit decisions
  • Experience managing software and hardware spend for a complex Technology department
  • Flexible and adaptable to change; ability to work comfortably with incomplete information and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Client centric and commitment to identifying opportunities to continually improve the underlying processes & resulting output

Preferences:

  • Wealth Management related industry experience
  • Master’s Degree, CPA, or CFA
  • Technology Financial Support experience
  • ITFM certification
  • TBM certification

 

Pay Range:

$128,235-$213,725/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
