Job Overview:

As the Vice President, Employee Development Leader, you will be at the helm of a dynamic team, driving the development of our most important asset—our people. You'll be a key player in strategic initiatives and cross-organizational projects, showcasing your strategic thinking and ability to juggle multiple priorities with finesse.

In this role, you will empower advisors across all facets of practice management, from leadership and business development to client experience and wealth planning. You'll guide them through critical stages of progression and succession, ensuring they thrive at every step.

Your responsibilities will include coaching, facilitating training, developing impactful content, and executing top-tier programs. You'll forge strong partnerships with LPL Field Leadership, playing a pivotal role in accelerating advisor success and growth.

This role will support our Home Office and Field Investor Focused Solutions models managing support staff, and partnerships across lines of businesses. The EDA Leader will manage their team through the design and development of a program and training team that is accountable for employee and manager development. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading end-to-end program development.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with business partners and subject matter experts to design and build an elite training program.

  • Recruiting a team of trainers responsible for supporting growth of the business, delivering new business solutions and high-impact process improvements.

  • Setting and executing on the long-term strategic vision of the Investor Focused Solutions and Field Management channels at LPL.

  • Not only training advisors but guiding leaders and operations through strategic success.

  • Building training and development programs that attract the nation’s top talent.

The successful leader will:

  • Be able to successfully build and cultivate strong, trusting business partnerships.

  • Ensure advisors are meeting and achieving training and development milestones.

  • Create a culture focused on client experience and program excellence.

  • Work closely with advisors, preparing them for a successful transition to future advisor opportunities within LPL.

  • Develop a track record of high performing employees who deliver quality client experiences.

  • Be able to communicate plans and progress to senior leaders.

  • Stay current with new industry strategies and offerings related to development and training materials to implement to appropriate teams.

  • Quickly identify opportunities for ongoing training needs via training versus performance gap analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to develop programs and strategies to promote growth, increase productivity and deliver client value of leaders and advisor teams.

  • Lead in person and remote coaching. Lead facilitation, content design and development of coaching programs.

  • Develop direct reports and teach coaching fundamentals to enable managers to support advisor success and growth.

  • Provide ongoing development to managers on leadership and coaching through one-on-one, group, and train-the-trainer methods.  

  • Engage with advisors to coach through all aspects of practice including leadership, business management, business development, client experience, wealth planning and solution delivery in order to improve performance, accelerate growth and enhance client satisfaction.

  • Support advisors through practice stages such as teaming, mergers/acquisition and succession.

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders and execute on strategic decision making.

  • Promote best practice sharing amongst advisors and branch managers about tactics to increase capacity and growth the business.

  • Work with vendors and external partners where necessary for ongoing development of employees.

Requirements:

  • Series 7

  • Experience working with financial advisors, branch and home office support teams preferred

  • Deep understanding of the FA practices, functions and stages

  • Demonstrates genuine interest, curiosity and empathy 

  • Advanced ability to manage complex interpersonal situations and create a safe, constructive space to problem solve

  • Travel for onsite coaching and throughout the country.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience as a management, business, or organizational consultant/coach.

  • Prefer 7+ years in financial industry (can include advisor experience).

  • Ability to motivate employees, build teams and drive outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and respect while at the same time being able to maintain the integrity of the model.

  • A highly strategic thinker, with the ability to assess complex problems, prioritize key issues, focus on relevant facts and maintain a strong execution focus.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present materials to the highest levels in the organization and serve as a recognized subject matter expert, as well as the ability to frame complex issues visually.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels and lead change.

  • Awareness of industry dynamics and best practices.

Pay Range:

$125,100-$208,500/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Additionally, LPL Total Rewards package is highly competitive, designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play – such as 401K matching, health benefits, employee stock options, paid time off, volunteer time off, and more.
