Duetto, the industry-leading hospitality revenue management system, leads the way in helping hotels, resorts and casinos optimize revenue and boost profit. Our leading SaaS platform, expanding suite of products, and incredibly skilled team have been at the heart of our continued success and our ambition for future growth knows no bounds.

Duetto is building the future of hotel revenue strategy. We’re not just another SaaS company — we’re redefining what’s possible for hotels through our category-creating platform, the Revenue & Profit Operating System.

2. Role Summary / Purpose

The Vice President, Data Science is responsible for setting the vision and leading execution as Duetto evolves from heuristic-based approaches to ML-powered forecasting, pricing, and decisioning. This role exists to build a world-class team, establish a durable science practice, and deliver measurable outcomes through tight partnership with the Apps and Platform organizations to ultimately drive agentic workflows that help operators run a better business.

3. Key Responsibilities
  • Builds the intelligence engine (algorithms, models, and insights) that powers Duetto’s industry-leading RP-OS and creates significant value for customers.
  • Leads the vision for the long-term opportunities to leverage data, ML, and AI to create value.
  • Sets a multi-year data science strategy that balances high-uncertainty research with the pragmatic delivery of the RP-OS roadmap.
  • Visions the evolution toward agentic workflows, providing the technical blueprint for moving from fragmented, manual decisions to unified, intelligent automation.
  • Leads  and continually raises the bar for a high-performing organization across Data Science Product Management, Analytics, ML Platform, and R&D to drive professional excellence.
  • Builds the business case and allocates resources and departmental budget effectively, making strategic tradeoffs between model performance, system latency, and operational costs.
  • Influences peers in Engineering and Product to ensure data science capabilities are integrated into intuitive UX and scalable platform patterns.
  • Capitalizes on scientific research—including causal methods and optimization—to improve forecasting accuracy and pricing integrity.
  • Presides over a rigorous research culture that prioritizes reproducibility, global scale evaluation, and "decision-grade" product analytics.
  • Secures the platform’s reputation by establishing "Responsible AI" guardrails, ensuring all models meet high standards for auditability, transparency, and data governance.
  • Achieves long-term strategic OKRs that redefine Duetto’s competitive position as the intelligence leader in hospitality technology.
  • Communicates the vision and execution with wider organization, the executive leadership team and board of directors.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support team and company priorities.
4. QualificationsRequired:
  • 12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of data science and product leadership, and operating production-grade data science organizations.
  • Track record of delivering business outcomes from innovative, data science-driven product development.
  • Proven expertise in managing the "model lifecycle" within high-scale SaaS environments, including specific focus on latency, cost, and data quality constraints.
  • Deep technical judgment in causal methods, forecasting, pricing optimization, and experimentation in real-world commercial settings.
  • Experience building or partnering on ML Platforms (MLOps) including monitoring, deployment modes, and CI/CD for ML.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of hiring, developing, and high-grading technical talent across multiple sub-functions.

Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in computer science, operations research, or similar analytical area.
Specialized skills, knowledge, or experience within the Hospitality technology industry, specifically revenue management.
  • Experience scaling ML across many "tenants" with heterogeneous data behavior (e.g., hierarchical or per-entity modeling).
  • Experience operating in privacy/security-constrained environments or regulated decision-intelligence systems.
