About the Role
Bat Around™ is seeking an experienced VFX Artist to design and implement dynamic, stylized visual effects for our mobile app. This short-term contract role focuses on creating high-quality, performance-optimized VFX to elevate the game experience. All core deliverables are expected to be completed by the end of February.
ResponsibilitiesCreate particle-based effects such as sparks, trails, and other gameplay visual flourishes.
Design and implement UI-focused VFX (button interactions, visual feedback, etc.).
Optimize effects for performance in a mobile 3D environment using frameworks like Three.js.
Collaborate with the 3D Artist and engineering team to maintain a cohesive visual style.
Deliver high-quality, reusable VFX assets that integrate seamlessly into the app.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a VFX Artist, ideally in mobile or casual games.
Strong portfolio showcasing stylized, performance-oriented effects.
Proficiency with VFX tools such as Houdini, Particle Illusion, or Niagara.
Practical experience with Three.js, WebGL, or similar frameworks for VFX implementation.
Understanding of mobile performance constraints and optimization techniques.
Strong ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Bonus: Knowledge of 3D modeling principles.
