About This Role:

The UX/UI Designer collaborates with marketing, web developers, UX developers, and product managers to design web layouts, build and maintain user-centered websites, web applications, and online products.

*This role is performed remotely from a home office, however, applicants should reside within a reasonably commutable distance for quarterly on-site meetings.  Relocation assistance is not being offered for this opportunity. 

Essential Functions:

  • Designs responsive web experiences for desktop and mobile devices from discovery through implementation, including responsive page layouts, banners, reusable components, effective messaging strategy and the ability to design varied content/page types while ensuring consistency with established Hunter brand and compliant accessibility standards.
  • Translates marketing team concepts and briefs into clear, actionable design direction.
  • Makes experience-informed design decisions grounded in best practices while remaining open to experimental, creative approaches that are sustainable to maintain and contribute to the Hunter’s design ecosystem.
  • Designs with messaging clarity in mind and structuring content to tell a cohesive story that moves users from awareness to conversion.
  • Crafts visual and strategic placement of content that centers the customer's journey, which clarifies the message, reducing friction, and guiding users toward a clear next step.
  • Produces high-fidelity mockups, wireframes, and design specifications using Figma.
  • Creates and edits visual assets using the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.).
  • Organizes and manages design assets within the team's Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, following established naming, metadata and versioning conventions.
  • Partners closely with front-end developers and web solutions architect to understand technical and platform constraints, review execution of designs and negotiate practical solutions without compromising the integrity of the artistic direction and user journey design.
  • Provides detailed design specifications, regularly review, provide feedback and stay involved with implementation to ensure accuracy with the approved design.
  • Advocates clearly and professionally for design decisions while remaining collaborative and solutions-oriented when trade-offs are required.
  • Plans and conducts user research, usability testing, and design validation.
  • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative feedback to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement. 

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in web design or graphic design or a combination of education and relevant work experience.

Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum two years of experience in website development and design.

What You Bring:

  • Advanced knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud and other professional graphic design software.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in user stories, workflows, and user journeys for complex user experiences.
  • Understanding of application development for mobile devices.
  • Understanding of UX methodologies of wireframing, ideation and prototyping.
  • Strong appreciation for web design, branding, user experience, functionality, information architecture, typography, and color.
  • Detail and multi-task oriented and ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce new graphic assets based on established brand standards and campaigns are preferred.
  • Ability to produce cross-browser, cross-platform, standards-compliant, CSS-driven layouts from Photoshop concepts preferred.
  • Knowledge of optimizing graphics for the web preferred.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Familiarity with Drupal CMS ecosystem, Drupal Canvas and reusable component design.

The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $45.00 to $52.50

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
