The Role

In this role, you will take ownership of the company-wide design system, supporting several product areas and associated development teams. You will work closely with the UX designers and engineers to deliver design guidance, component frameworks, tool,s and artifacts that support and expedite product development and a consistent user experience. You will provide editorial oversight for the quality and consistency of the design system and associated deliverables. You will be responsible for communicating design system goals, content, and processes, as well as analytics and ROI to other groups, including product managers, designers, engineering teams, and leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage design system development and maintenance for BeyondTrust
  • Manage a small team dedicated to the design system
  • Work within the UX Architecture team to deliver cohesive artifacts for developers, designers, QA, and more
  • Work closely with UX leadership to foster effective process and productivity among the greater UX team
  • Continuously refine design system processes to improve efficiency, increase capabilities, and grow organizational impact
  • Assist the UX Architecture Manager in roadmap creation, project planning and prioritization
  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal departments including UX, Product Management, and Engineering
  • Act as a user advocate when involved in product design and development process, offering suggestions from a user-centered perspective
  • Collaborate with researchers to organize, test, and iterate the content and components of the design system
  • Collaborate with designers to improve usability, innovate, and keep the design system fresh with a focus on flexibility and user familiarity
  • Work on UI improvements across the product portfolio
  • Work with the UX and Engineering departments to deliver a robust design system that addresses design concerns across multiple product platforms
  • Focus on collaboration with others within the UX and Engineering departments to ensure continuity, group awareness, and ease of future development
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure design system guidance meets product requirements and experience expectations
  • Through the company design system, help guide development teams to create consistent UIs in any product
  • Support QA testing efforts to ensure user experience requirements are fulfilled and adhere to high quality standards

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years' experience in UX, Product, or Interaction Design
  • Experience with people management
  • Experience creating and governing design systems
  • Experience managing design or development projects
  • Experience working with design methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Experience distilling visual concepts and user flows into modular, reusable structures
  • High aptitude for making data-driven decisions
  • Solid foundation of organizational and time management skills
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues to produce results
  • Strong understanding of UI conventions
  • Strong understanding of accessibility best practices

Nice To Have

  • UX certifications such as those from NN/g or HFI
  • Knowledge of JavaScript front-end frameworks and libraries
  • UNIX, Linux, Windows, and Mac OS experience
  • Android, iOS, and other mobile platform experience
  • Figma and Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed team
