US Regulatory Training Expert – SEC Filings & Compliance

This role leads training initiatives on SEC filings and shareholder communications, focusing on compliance and engagement with high-touch clients. It involves designing training programs, content development, client interaction, and program management.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable US Regulatory Training Expert to lead educational initiatives focused on U.S. SEC filings, shareholder communications, and capital markets protocols. This role is ideal for a professional with hands-on experience in EDGAR filings, proxy materials, and client advisory services, who is passionate about sharing their expertise through structured training programs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with high-touch clients and internal teams, delivering training that enhances compliance, accuracy, and strategic communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Facilitation
- Design and deliver training programs on SEC filing processes, EDGAR platform usage, and shareholder communication protocols.
- Conduct workshops and webinars on:
- SEC form types: DEF 14A, DEFA14A, DEFM14A, DEFC14A, PRE 14A, PREC 14A, PX14A6G, 8-K, S-1, S-4, etc.
- Filing validation processes and troubleshooting.
- NOBO/OBO rules and Broadridge/Transfer Agent/Mail House workflows.
- Provide hands-on guidance for last-minute amendments, hard filings, and holiday submissions.
Content Development
- Create training materials, guides, and SOPs tailored to various audiences including legal teams, corporate secretaries, and sustainability professionals.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure training content reflects best practices in narrative hierarchy, data visualization, and executive compensation disclosures.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead onboarding and training sessions for Fortune 500 issuers, law firms, and advisory clients.
- Interface with C-Suite executives, board liaisons, and general counsels to tailor training to strategic needs.
- Support clients during proxy season and market-sensitive events with real-time training and advisory.
Program Management
- Manage training schedules, feedback loops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track learner progress and adapt training delivery to meet evolving regulatory and client needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client-facing interactions.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Communications, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in SEC filings, shareholder communications, or capital markets advisory.
- Proven experience in facilitating training on EDGAR and SEC compliance.
- Strong understanding of U.S. capital markets, corporate governance, and regulatory disclosures.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and instructional design skills.
- Ability to manage complex timelines and multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Broadridge, Transfer Agents, and Mail House protocols.
- Familiarity with proxy solicitation, investor relations, and design advisory.
- Proficiency in compliance platforms and document management systems.
