This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, and a focus on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing API solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement unified API solutions to integrate multiple backend systems and third-party services.
- Develop and maintain API gateways and microservices architectures using AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
- Ensure API security through authentication, authorization, and encryption using AWS IAM, Cognito, and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical API specifications.
- Optimize API performance and scalability through caching, throttling, and load balancing strategies.
- Implement monitoring and logging for APIs using AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for API deployments using AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
- Troubleshoot API integration issues and provide technical guidance to development teams.
- Stay updated on emerging API technologies, AWS services, and integration best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in API development and integration.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API design principles and JSON/XML data formats.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, S3).
- Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and other API security standards.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience with API management tools (e.g., Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway).
- Understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect.
- Experience with GraphQL and WebSockets.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, ECS/EKS) for API deployments.
- Exposure to multi-cloud API strategies and hybrid integration patterns.
