About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Institutional Investment Operations Specialist supporting the Triparty Repo Funding team as a Team Lead.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Operational Leadership & Control -
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Institutional Investment Operations Specialist supporting the Triparty Repo Funding team as a Team Lead.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Operational Leadership & Control -
- Oversee daily triparty repo funding, settlements, and collateral substitutions across BNY Mellon.
- Manage intraday funding priorities, exception queues, and cutoffs to ensure zero fail culture and optimal use of collateral.
- Own operational risk controls: reconciliations, break management, post-trade validation, cash/position substantiation, and settlement controls.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex breaks, collateral misallocations, eligibility issues, and agent platform discrepancies.
- Maintain and enhance SOPs, desktop procedures, and control testing; support RCSA/ICFR/SOX evidence and audit readiness.
- Help in leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team.
- Rebuild institutional knowledge via structured training, mentoring, and cross-training programs; reduce key-person risk.
- Drive triparty initiatives (e.g., automation, new products/clients, eligibility rule enhancements, GC vs. specials optimization).
- Partner with Product/FO/Tech to define requirements, prioritize backlog, and execute UAT for platform upgrades and interfaces.
- Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvements.
- Contribute to the future-state operating model, shift coverage, and resiliency planning.
- Act as key liaison with Front Office, Treasury, Collateral Optimization, Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Middle Office.
- Manage service with triparty agents (SLAs, issue logs, service reviews) and ensure alignment on eligibility, haircuts, and settlement windows.
- Communicate status, risks, and metrics to senior leadership; prepare governance materials and incident post-mortems.
- 5+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Deep knowledge of triparty repo operations, including agent platforms (e.g., BNY Mellon, JPMorgan, Euroclear) and collateral allocation mechanics.
- Experience managing funding, liquidity, or collateral operations within a large financial institution, ideally with exposure to front-to-back repo workflows.
- Strong people-leadership skills, including coaching, workload management, and the ability to guide a high-volume, high-risk operations team.
- Expertise in operational risk and control frameworks, including break resolution, settlement controls, governance standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with Front Office, Technology, Product, Risk, and Middle Office teams to drive initiatives and resolve escalations.
- Project management and change-management experience, especially supporting system upgrades, UAT testing, automation efforts, or new triparty funding initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex issues under time pressure and provide clear direction.
- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
- Familiarity with collateral/funding tools (e.g., tri-party portals, OMS/EMS, settlement systems).
- Hybrid - 3 days in office expectations at posted location. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.
