Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Accountability Associate to support Transactional Risk and Intelligence Group (TRIG) in performing transaction-based reviews of customers with elevated and complex risk profiles to generate actionable recommendations to line of business risk management teams. In this role, you will:

  • Participate in and provide support for low-complexity matters pertaining to the business’ policy and regulatory adherence, risk mitigation, or control efforts
  • Research, review, document, and present findings related to issues, records, policies, and procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained
  • Receive direction from supervisors and exercise judgment within defined parameters while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, records, and other business information
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to implement actions in support of risk-mitigation and control initiatives
  • Identify customers presenting a heightened risk to the line of business through product, industry, and emerging risk reviews
  • Conducting deep research on high-risk customers and industries
  • Assessing exposure to emerging risks
  • Enhancing customer due diligence and risk baselines based on transactional usage
  • Conduct various forms of transactional due diligence reviews in support of risk management
  • Assess transactional usage to help establish a better understanding of benign activity versus further assessment needed
  • With manager support, conducts transactional reviews of customer base at the product, industry and typology risk level;
  • Engage with direct manager to develop the appropriate data needed to conduct a successful portfolio review;
  • Evaluates ML/TF and operational risks present in the portfolio to determine required level of escalation and ultimate recommendation, in consultation with manager;
  • Communicate findings and provides appropriate direction to manager and Wells Fargo Businesses
  • Participate in moderately complex project initiatives;
  • Provide incremental enhancements to existing ML/TF typologies based upon observations from daily work

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following:  work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate risks and to communicate relevant risk to the business in a simple, decisive, timely and market-appropriate manner
  • Excel experience including the ability to manage large and sets of transactional data (Pivot tables)
  • PowerPoint creation and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML programs including KYC, CDD, EDD, CIP and / or other related risk and regulatory disciplines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to collaborate with geographically dispersed teams and matrixed relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of Wells Fargo systems (WCIS, Cornerstone, Hogan, OIB, IIS, UAR Portal, etc.) and products (wires, ACH, check products, cash vault, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, National Security & Intelligence Studies or other relevant field.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$20.82 - $41.11
