Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lead Transaction Management Director to oversee transaction management, closing coordination and document negotiation for its loan repo and CMBS origination businesses.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop teams that direct the administration of policies and procedures which govern the documentation and transaction closing process for RESCM and CMLSF transactions.
- Provide strategic vision and direction to ensure final negotiated agreements are documented accurately and adhere to corporate policies and procedures
- Direct the administration of policies and procedures which govern the documentation process
- Ensure adherence to controls and risk mitigation measures applicable to transaction management and documentation
- Use industry documentation standards and best practices to influence our internal processes
- Manage projects impacting documentation group including identifying and driving technology solutions, providing real-time insight to deal teams regarding transaction specifics and coordinating various transaction aspects to ensure adherence to closing deadlines
- Lead team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet industry standards and best practices
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives Work closely with Front Office, Legal, Credit and Operations to ensure a excellent working relationship with business partners
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Transaction Management and Closing's RESCM/CMLSF vertical
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- Act as a subject matter expert to design policies and procedures in alignment with risk mitigation objectives
- Ensure equitable distribution of workload and ongoing training opportunities for team members
- 8+ years of Capital Markets Document Negotiation experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
- Law degree
- Transformational leadership: ability to affect and influence change.
- Strong understanding of RESCM and CMLSF transaction lifecycles, industry best practices, understanding of applicable documentation, funding mechanics, deal structure, funds flows, etc.; deal team experience required.
- Process and execution-focused while building strategic client and internal relationships; prior experience working with clients to collect and review loan documentation ahead of closing large transactions preferred.
- Proven track record of prioritizing and proactively identifying and resolving problems under tight deadlines, ability to operate in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments with ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and senior management across and within the lines of business with a keen attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills, and strong analytical capability.
- Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate for fluctuating deal flow volumes, as needed, including working extra hours as workflow dictates;.
- Experience with RCSA and issues management
- Ability to review processes and procedures with an eye toward business-specific nuances
- Ability to independently identify areas for process improvement and provide solutions to management
- Project management experience
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
- This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.
